That is absolutely disgusting - makes me feel very sad. Poor, poor horse
A few years ago when I was doing a different job, I was lost and couldn't find the farm I was supposed to be going to. I stopped at a place (didn't know it was a well known showing/breaking/schooling/stud at the time) and was looking round for someone to ask directions. I looked in some stables and there were several horses tied like this. This is a yard which every year qualifies their horses for HOYS. They have a very impressive website which talks about their "sympathetic" training methods. Every time I hear of someone sending their horse there to be broken/schooled, I cringe.....
They do this a lot with show ponies, gives a totally false outline but looks pretty.
That is fairly normal on showing yards.
Plenty of other methods exist... E.g. Tying weights to legs so they produce a flashy action...
You really have to ask just how far away is this sort of practice from this...

That is ghastly its a horrible horse sport how any one can 'admire' horses going like that is beyond me.
I had my rant on this last month

The videos are the tip of the iceberg. What they actually do to make the horses walk this was is much uglier
Found another lovely pic on FB today (not from the UK, I believe)

If any of us find such practices - take pics and circulate them (without naming the yard) and walk away from the yard forever. It's the only way we can fight back.....
OMG that's awful. Poor horse looks so uncomfortable and in pain.![]()
I think they should be named and shamed, and this is where the rspca, whw should be investigating these horses "trainers" and believe me i use that term loosely.... You dont have to starve or neglect a horse to be cruel, and in my opinion this is the epitomy of cruelty, how can this horse, eat, drink, or even breath !!
And if that means well known "professionals" (laughable ) are done with cruelty, so be it, if this is what they think is good humane training methods

Nice, really top way of training- not!! Honestly, what are people like!
I was once told by a well known trainer to basically do that with a horse that I had that was naughty- stick a tight pair of side reins on in the stable and shut the top door. Needless to say I walked away.
I saw this used once on a small stallion showing cob, albeit not as harsh or tight but it was still tight enough to get a curve on his neck. He couldn't eat, couldn't drink and had been left with it in for over an hour. He pawed at the stable door in protest and the owner simply said, 'I'll put in on a hole tighter in a minute'. How caring these owners are to inflict pain and distress onto their animals simply for looks.
