D2 lunged her today for me. Was okay on left rein, then was okay on right rein until after canter. Suddenly didn't look right. No trips or bucks or messing about (head shaking due to flies).

Her back end, which is usually up on the left due to the wonky pelvis is now up on the right. She's not flexing through her hocks when she walks. Not lame per se, but not right. It looks high up.

On box rest and vet is coming tomorrow afternoon.

I'm meant to be going to Cornwall tomorrow for the weekend. Not seen Dad for two years (how did that happen?!).

At work when I should have left hours ago. Missed riding any neds today. Tired. Hungry. Grumpy. And trying really hard not to stress too much about the Dizz.

Pah :(

Someone please stop the tears. I'm in a client's office. I can't cry now.

*hands mrsm hot choccy with marshmallows, squirty cream and extra chocolate sprinkles and tells her not to worry*

nooooooo! Why can't you just get a break!!! :( So disappointed for you after your cantering exploits.

Fingers crossed it's just a tweak. HUGS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Awwwh!
Poor you! Like another post has said, I am hoping that it is not as bad as you think, and very best wishes and vibes. Have a safe journey to Cornwall!XXXXXXX

Group hug, everything crossed and wishing her well.... I hate the fact that you have to weather so many storms MrsM but hopefully what's up with Dizzy at the moment is just a teeny one in a teacup..

Thank you all :)

I know it sounds pathetic, and it is, but I cried all the way home (it was a long way, I was water logged when I got back :rolleyes:). I went to see the Dizz and she was her usual self, only a bit quieter. I was on my own so couldn't see how she was moving and had to make do with looking at her bum :o. It looks normal (or as normal as it ever does), but that's the way with her, I know it's much more noticable when she moves.

Friend will be there tomorrow when the vet comes, but I will be whittling like mad. Hoping the vet can get there before we are meant to leave. Don't want to leave her this weekend. Meant to be visiting Little Lad on the way to my Dad's.

I feel like my heart strings are being tied in knots. I love Dizzy; I feel part of her.

Ohhh!

I think you have been through so much lately that you are feeling highly sensitive of things that normally you would be able to take in your stride, maybe going away from things will help you gain a bit more perspective on everything. I really hope you and dizzy feel better soon xxxxBig hugs!

That's not pathetic Mrs M, not at all. We all get a bit weepy sometimes, especially about things that are close to our hearts!

Try not to worry about Dizzy as I'm sure she will be fine again soon. You have done the right thing but tucking her away in her cosy stable and getting the vet quickly. Try to relax and wait until the vet can tell you what's what.

I hope that Dizzy is perky again soon and that you feel better about it all. By the way, chocolate is entirely guilt-free at such times. :D

Will keep everything crossed for you and Dizzy tomorrow - please try not to panic - hopefully all will be OK and you will be able to do a happy post tomorrow. I'd offer further hot beverages but you will never sleep with running to the loo from all the others!!

Really sorry to hear of yet another set back. If you can find some-one to do it I can recommend accupuncture for bad backs (both human and equine). My horse is currently having a course of accupuncture and just one session had made a lot of difference. :) My vet (who does the accu) is very pleased with her progress. Mind you we are still looking at 2 -3 months off work.:(

ohhh my poor favourite pretty blonde horse. Hugs to you and dizzy and im sure she will be fine, she may just be being a drama queen and be ok in the morning. If not hope shes right soon.

You know where I am if you want a longer chat. x

Thank you. Had her walked up this morning. Definately not right. Definately high up :(

Dizz has bony irregularities on her pelvis. It may be an issue, it may not. No telling. She was lame at the start of 2009 and had a week at Rossdales. Then she suddenly went lame July 2009 and had a week at the AHT. Both times she 'refused' to go lame no matter how much work they gave her. She's been back in work properly for the last two weeks (due to me bouncing on head, yard moves, bad weather, work commitments). She has little topline and has had a growth spurt in the last two months. Saddler has been out week before Christmas, two weeks ago and is due again in two weeks time. Back man saw her same times and will be booked again to come soonest (dependent on vet's visit this afternoon). Dizz is changing shape almost faster than saddler and I can keep up! Back man and saddler last came out because the Dizz was being more than a dingbat - neck was slightly out and saddle was rocking on points of tree (changed saddles). Dentist was out October and a couple of days ago. Farrier was two weeks ago.
