Do any of you live far away from where you're horses are kept?

5 minutes at the moment but our yard is about to go on the market and there's nowhere locally I'd want to go to with spaces so I might be facing a longer journey soon. YOs are marketing it as a going concern so we're hoping we can stay but who knows......

Its 14 mins once I get out of town, so 20 at a good time and 30 at a bad time. We bought the house in town to be in walking distance to the train station for work and now we both work from home 😂

YO turns out in the am so never need to go up more than once a day. There are 2 yards closer but one is a RS and the other is a massive competition/ show venue and I'd rather have a quiet yard with a longer commute at the minute!

For about 15 years I was a 15min drive to them, now I'm a 1min drive or less than 10min stroll . Wouldnt go back to such a commute if I could avoid it. It was life changing moving them closer. I go home to change b4 work and can nip round anytime. It's been a long wait to bring them closer to home, but worth it.

Mine is 7 minutes in the car. It still seems too far sometimes. I really want him to live with me. I am the laziest person in the world and getting up to go out in the cold in winter is just too much.

Ideally i'd have a farm in Italy (or any other warmer than Ireland country) and he would live in a field beside my villa.

Im looking at potentially going to Newmarket to work and live, found livery is rare.. so I'm prepared for long journey somehow. Props to everyone who commutes far, not the easiest 😫

I live in north London, yard is in Bristol so that's quite a trek! We're on full 7-day livery of course. When I was on DIY I was 7 miles away or a 20-35 minute drive depending on traffic.

Mine is 12 miles /20-25 mins each way. I have to go twice at weekends and it's not ideal but there aren't many decent yards around here that offer what I need, have space and most importantly turn out in the winter.

I moved my horse out to a yard with flat turnout which was very important as she had an arthritic knee, I was also going to move to the same area and travelled to the yard everyday which was an hour each way for 3 months while I found somewhere to live and sell my house.. after the first week I found it quite easy, I am retired so I went to the yard early , rode and did jobs, helped at the yard and got all of the horses in and mine was fed by the yard in the evening so I just went once a day.. I moved in December so before the really bad weather started
