Thought Parzival was beautiful - such expression! Loved the Friesian too, so sweet and did so much good stuff, much more than some that got ahead of him.Guess the judges just didn't see that. Can completely understand why Laura and Alf got second, it was just a moment, and so well recovered.
What a HUGE difference in standard....from first to second half- on another planet!
Agree with the difference in standard between first and second half!!
The Friesian was incredibly short in the neck, his chin was touching his neck at times, he was never allowed to get any longer in the frame at all, not even in the extensions. He most definitely wasn't under-scored! If anything he was over-scored IMO, French judge put him 1st at the time.
Sisther de Jeu was stunning, very tense but stunning, I can't believe how much she has changed since last year. I know last year was 'only' a masterclass but even so! She is going to be fabulous, and hopefully just in time for London 2012 -- she'll be 13 then, perfect I would have personally put her in 2nd place and Alf in 3rd.
Amy Stovold was a pleasant surprise, lovely lovely horse, had never seen them before!
Marquis was a shock I felt so bad for Emile, he is such an incredible rider. It's just so unfortunate. I remember seeing them at Cappeln this summer and I don't really remember M. being so hot at all....
Overall it wasn't as memorable as last year, but still glad that the best combination (by far) won.
Agree with FrodoBeutlin, the friesian may have been a bit different but I really really did not enjoy that ride at all. His mouth appeared to be open a lot of the time. I enjoyed Parzival, Sisther de Jeu, Macbrian, Lois D'or, Pegasus and Mas Guapo the most (and also enjoyed the reception that the crowd gave to Edward Gal, that was nice to see).
