Potts wears fetlock and over reach boots whenever he is exercised and Harley wears over reach and a sausage boot every time he works, both have tendon boots on to jump.
Never!!! Don't own a set either..... Perhaps I should go shopping? Now touching wood, but Star hasn't damaged herself YET.....
Sorry but I don't agree. 20 years we had horses in the riding school and not one of them had an accident. If a horse brushes - use brushing boots. If it tends to over reach then use overreach boots.QUOTE]
I have to agree with this. I think it's totally unnecessary to boot up all round just to go for a walk around the village! You put whatever protection is needed. My horse has brushing boots on on the front to travel in as he doesn't travel too well and my mums horse has overreach boots for faster work as he likes to step on his own feet and pull shoes off! We dont bother with any other boots and they seem to be fine, they have the odd knock here and there but that mostly happens when theyre out in the field.
I boot up for everything. Allround for schooling, knee boots for hacking and travelling boots in the lorry. I love my horses so much I could not bare it if they got injured just because I was too lazy to protect them.
