I took Hannah competing BD yesterday, and she was in her 'madam' mode again... I am having her saddle checked this morning, just to rule that out as part of her ignorance when being ridden, however, I do not expect much change!
I was warming her up with about four or five other horses... there were two in particular that really stood out as excellent, very impressive big warmbloods that moved beautifully and really had that 'bouce' that I love watching. It made me wonder why on earth I bother going out sometimes... no matter how well trained Hannah is, she will never ever move like that because she is not built like that!
Does anyone else ever feel like that or was a just having a grumpy day myself?
As it is, she was placed second with 64.7something%, which I felt was a good mark for how she had been behaving! She set off on the wrong leg in the first canter because she was spooking at the judges table
, but I quickly corrected it, and this was commented on.
I really need to work on her medium work... it really is letting her down. The problem is she can do it at home, but not when out competing
I think perhaps some of it is down to me maybe getting a bit tight through the hips when I am feeling a bit nervous, so it is also something I need to overcome too
