Alf is a registered ID so has all his pedigree (real name Crystal Clear View) his grandsire was Carrabawn View.
I used to have a TBxID mare whose dam was Little Macha, of Janet George fame!! Her TB grandsire was Oats.

I think what is really interesting is how many horses share the same lines. Rose and my daughter's eventer both have the same grandsire (Ramiro Z) and he was the great grandsire of one of my previous horses. I guess most horses with a known pedigree will have famous relatives. By the way, all these horses were completely different apart from being very nice movers. I also had a very handsome TB who was by Petoski, who traced back to Nijinsky and Northern Dancer, he was a lazy git and the safest hack ever as he couldn't make the effort to be silly. I doubt he'd have got down to the start by the time the rest had finished!

Much as I would love to know more, the most I know about mine is that he was passported in Ireland aged nine and his breeding is "unrecorded"!

I used to work at a TB stud and got very interested in breeding/bloodlines in those days which makes having a bog pony of undetermined parentage even more frustrating!

Gray isn't actually very inbred at all given that he is an American Tb!

I need to update Jeff's with his mothers information when I get the chance.

My Dartmoor is more inbred than my Thoroughbreds 😂😂😂

I've just found out (when looking for the painting of the grey) that my boy has two of his ancestors immortalised in plastic by Breyer. :D

My mare traced back to Ofir through his daughter Mammona. Do you know the story of Ofir and Mammona (and others)? I can try and find a link if not.

I am onto my 3rd horse in my life and she said the only one I know his breeding which I find very interesting. I know the lady who has his sire and also had the grand sire.
He’s called Tic Tock because he was born the night the clocks changed back in March 2010.

In order, one of BBPs great granddads on the Spanish side, then his sire, then the pony beast himself, then another great granddad on his welsh B side/quarter.D537B566-6CA3-43F4-8427-F2585CE649D4.jpegE51B703F-7032-4300-B380-E66908F78162.jpegB930ACC6-01B2-4BA1-9D6B-4337DAB40B86.jpeg580ABDA4-E597-495B-A497-41C84C16A1E5.jpeg

Just realised I didn’t read the brief, they aren’t famous. But I like how the black(ish) horse with white foot has gone down the generations 🙂

Were these part of the group that were stolen from Janow Podlaski? I remember reading about how they walked them a long way to avoid the Nazis or something along those lines.

None at all, I really wish I did, I suspect my Irish boy has some Templebready Fear Bui relatives but at 28yo I think he is to old to be by him.

My old man ( who died a few years back) was great grand-son of Seabird who won the Derby and Arc de Triomphe in 1965. He was a beautiful horse who raced and won a bit, he looked very like his great grand dad but did not have the same “motor”

Yes that's it. 1,000 miles when Mammona was a foal then a few months later another 1,000 miles. Actually looking at Witez II, he had an eventful life as well.

yes Witez II certainly had an eventful life. Have you, or Faracat or any other arab peeps looked in on the FB group Purebred Arabian Trust?
It has a lot of old pics and histories.

I've got both my welshies & warmbloods family trees going right back! Amazing how many duplicates come up on my welshies tree compared to none on the warmblood, could explain some things!!! Lol Amazed to find names I recognised such as Lady killer in there though.

That coloured pony on the left there has a three generation pedigree. Her sire, Ballybane Shamrock goes back to Hyperion and then Gainsborough. Gainsborough is, to me, one of the most beautiful little TBs ever. Her Irish granny, Ballybane Grace, was pretty famous too.

All mine go back into the mists of time - the ponies entirely, the mare only on her dam side.

Highlights (or, lowlights) include "Lame Colt" in Dae's distant past. Gosh those pony breeders in the 19th C knew how to sell their ponies!

Josethdene, Salinadene and Fifedene are 3 of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE Highland ponies! Fifedene and Salinadene went to Aus when Scott moved out there. He was offered an obscene amount of money for Fifedene but he couldn't bear to sell him.

I’ve been scrolling back through my boys family tree. Unfortunately I don’t really know what are good names to look out for in the TB world. I think Eclipse is in there which I saw mentioned in another reply. There was another name I recognised, unusual colouring for a TB; spotty.

ETA, found him, The Tetrarch.

I knew Stuartdene (& his lovely owner) as we both liveried at Scott's old place after he sold it and emigrated. Small world!

If they're anything like Joe, I can see why - he's an absolute darling of a pony!

My mare's sire is Hillviewfarm Milligan. His great grand sire is Grey Macha I'm guessing there's a connection there.

Sadly there's no details of her dams breeding and I've never been able to find much about her.
