Do you listen to Podcasts?

I love a good podcast , but most of mine are the murder death kill type and might not be what you are looking for . Non death related podcasts in my subscription list include, " daily strides - audio horse riding lessons ," and "standard issue," which is kind of like an audio magazine , for women by women .

Podcasts are great, I listen here o all sorts of topics. Why don’t you do a google search of podcast and horsey topic you’re interested in.

Yes I've started listening to them, it makes the time pass a bit quicker when doing the mucking out etc. I like comedy at the moment but I have just caught up with the Serial ones which were quite gripping once I got into it.

I subscribe to about 50+ so can recommend loads (books, cinema, lots of the Radiotopia and Radio 4 and 5 ones) but it really depends on what your interests are as to whether they'll work for you or not! My four broad recommendations are 99% Invisible, Criminal, Standard Issue and Answer Me This. All very different but well made and really good general appeal. Just don't listen to the latter two without headphones on as they're quite sweary and you don't want to scandalise anyone :D

Horsey wise, I haven't come across that many tbh but then they are a bit more niche. The Eventing Podcast is really good and I dip in and out of the Eventing Radio Show depending on guests and topics as some are good, some not so much.

I love Podcasts, though am yet to find a good horse-related one. I'm a massive nerd (see username!) so most of mine are comedy/film/science/comic book based.
- No Such Thing As A Fish (from the QI researchers)
- Simon Mayo's Confessions
- Infinite Monkey Cage (R4 science show)
- Plumbing the Death Star (Australian presenters, vvvv funny)
- Shut Up a Second
- Movie Maintenance
- Dungeons and Dragons Is For Nerds
- Private Eye podcast

#horsehour I have friend that does this and a few that have been on it. Its the top horse one out there and it is very good.

Would be interested in your true crime list!

OP - This American Life, Serial, S-Town.

No horsey suggestions but I’ve just finished listening to More Perfect. It’s about the Supreme Court but don’t let that put you off, it’s really interesting and very well produced.

And as no one has mentioned it yet ‘my dad wrote a porno’ will have you laughing out loud. On a Crowded train. Happened to me more than once.

I've never thought of tracking down horsey podcasts! My current subscription list is huge, but some faves:

99% Invisible - podcast about design
Casefile - true crime
Conversations (from ABC Radio) - Australian talk show, talking to all sorts of interesting people
Disaster Area - looking at the causes and outcomes of various disasters
Global Pillage - comedy panel show
History Extra
I Don't Even Own A Television - a podcast about bad books
Most Notorious - true crime
Myths and Legends (Jason Weiser and Carissa Weiser) - Jason's a really good storyteller, and he retells various myths and legends from around the world.

I listen to podcasts when I'm doing something tedious at work, so like to have a hefty backlog of episodes to listen to.

I listen to a few, prefer the horsey ones.
The Eventing Podcast is great, especially if you follow the ERM series.
The Eventing Radio Show is also good, I have listened for years and now follow much more eventing in North America as well as here as it has interviews with guests from both scenes.
The Horse Radio Network do loads of other shows, a bit too US based for me but the WEG show is quite good for updates and interviews across disciplines.

Non horsey ones - I enjoyed Serial, S-Town and Casefile occasionally. If you like interviews, WTF is great, and Adam Buxton & Richard Herring both also get some good comedy/film guests.

thank you, you lovely lot! there's loads of suggestions for me to get going with.

so many suggestions. Not many horsey ones though...

I'm going to go look at Horse Hour first... i think I may have heard of it on Twitter come to think of it

Personally I am not into all these new things like pod cats - snap chat - twitter etc.

To be really truthful I would have to find out what it does..

At last, someone even less techy than I am :-) I love the idea of pod cats...
That said I do love a good pod cast while I'm poo picking. ILuvCowparsley, they are nothing to be afraid of. Think of them as recordings of radio programmes, for that is essentially what they are.
