Just wondering, Toto has Christmas Day off, do you ride your horse or do they have a day off?

They have the day off as we do the family thing, but always try and do a Christmas hack on Christmas eve with Gina and Mum if the weather isn’t too horrid.

I was actually thinking I'd love to this year. :-)

Split up w OH and sister is being 'difficult' but has a new baby so parents should probably be with her. There are friends I could spend the day with but to be honest I'd rather ride or play with the Unsuitable Chestnut Arab (lucky for me he *loves* some of the stuff we do together so I wouldn't feel guilty.) Was thinking that way I cd see parents for morning/evening, they cd see grandchild and horse wdn't be bored and I wdn't be stressed.

Will have to check w his owner as obviously she gets first dibs but if I offer to muck out too...

Don't think i ever have, i avoid leaving my pj's at all costs! This means i have to don my very attractive boiler suit over my pj's to muck and turn out!
We do hunt on boxing day though.

Well Mum tends to help me with the horse on Christmas Day... we have our routine where we do the horse, go to my instructor's for a mince pie and hot drink, then off for lunch (this year at my sister's). I would like to ride, but tend to end up riding on boxing day instead.

If I have time yes I love hacking out on christmas day wearing tinsel

However christmas day is such a busy day for me that I don't manage it every year, in fact I don't think I have done it in at least 5 years

For the first 24 Christmases of my life, all I wanted was to look out the window and see a pony in the garden so I'll be damned if I don't ride now I have one!

Obviously, I shame the horse by covering him in tinsel and insisting he wears his reindeer antlers

Don't ride on that day,or any day....as my nerves are bad..........but,I think I just might get back on board, what I do just to avoid the Mother-in-Law who now comes every Christmas as my OH father died nearly three years ago.....then I'm very good at stringing out all my yard jobs.....amazing how mucking out can turn into for ever!

I normally drag my family up if we have a quite morning and they help with yard duties. Then I hack one out and they come for a walk and I normally manage to get my brother on and I lead him. Makes me feel less guilty about all the tonnes of food im going to eat throughtout the day. Then home to open presents. Weather dependant though.

I always ride on Christmas day! Last christmas i didnt even want to go for my christmas dinner because I was having so much fun at the farm and i always end up doing other peoples horses too - I had 7 to do one year!

I love riding xmas day all dressed up in tinsel
