Went to see an Arab for sale Sunday, just down the road from me. Before visiting I was told he was lame as he's pulled his shoulder in the field. When I turned up he was in the stable with a swollen bottom half of his leg. Didn't see how lame he was as he didn't come out of the stable. He was a stunning boy to say the least. Anyway, does a pulled shoulder lead to a swollen leg....?

um......pulled shoulder......slightly vague!

I suppose in theory it could but without knowing what they mean by 'pulled shoulder' its hard to say!

You wont be buying I hope?

Go back once the horse is all sorted.
But yes swelling will drop, if it's in the shoulder the swelling will drop through the leg to work out

quite popssibly, the swelling can drop down the leg due to gravity or the swelling could ba caused by immobilisation - the shoulder hurts so he doesnt put weight on the leg hence the swelling. NOT AT ALL DEFINATE THOUGH!!!! When you go back to see him again make sure you give the WHOLE leg a good look over, just cos the swelling isnt there doesnt mean there wasnt a problem!

nearly 2 weeks later and no improvement...still has swollen legs and lame. Possibly something more serious?? Or would a pulled shoulder take a long time to heal?
