Nobody on my yard goes out, they just box up and go some where, or ride on the gallops i am boxless so can't join them and they are gone by the time i get there, so i always go out on my own. Most of it is roads and i have noticed no one else out either. You you ride out?

I ride out 99% of the time....sometimes I box up to ride out with others, but I spend most of my time hacking!!

I do nothing BUT ride out :o

We are lucky to have rather good hacking around us though, we can go offroad a fair bit. Although I like road riding as well as I can nosey into peoples nice houses ;)

I ride out several times a week and my horse gets bored with the same hack so althoug it's a 20 minute walk to the forest / beach, I do a lot of road hacking. I was talking to my farrier about this some months ago and he said that so many of his clients stay in the safety of the 4 walls and are too nervous/scared to hack.

He actually gave me the number of another client and we go hacking together on a regular basis whereas, before this she kept making excuses such asit was too windy etc. I think some people who have to hack by themselves just need a little extra motivation so those on a yard by themselves, just don't hack.

One yard I was on, I was the only one out of 8 horses to hack out on a regular basis and 2 of the others schooled more than hacked (IF they rode at all).

I only ever ride out atm. Mainly due to my girly being unfit so trying to build up her fitness. I think there's only 1 person on my yard that schools regularly and then thats only once a week. I haven't hacked out much with other liveries yet but often tag along with rides from the riding school side just to learn some routes! We're only 20mins max away from 3/4 beaches and a vast stretch of moorland so i have no intention of schooling until i have explored everywhere around yard!!

I wish I could ride out! Our land more or less backs onto miles of forest but the farmers won't let us ride through their land to get to the forest, as they have a dairy herd.

We live on a very busy fast stretch of an A road, so can't ride on the road to get to forest and so have to box the 2 miles to the nearest picnic site to park the box! It is so frustrating, as I can't drive the lorry (although I'm applying for provisional cat C license) and have to rely on my dad to drive us the whole 2 miles to hack out.

To make matters worse still Ted can no longer be worked in the ménage that my parents paid £1000's for due to arthritis and not being able to bend properly. So I can only ride once or twice a week depending on how busy my Dad is. It doesn't help that the world cup is on as he'd rather be watching that than walking out with me and Ted!

I ride out a lot, although there is a fair amount of roadwork to be done to get to anywhere nice, so occasionally box to the new forest etc for a nice long ride. Also take the pony and carriage out a few times a week, so yes, lots of going out in comparison to schooling time!

I ride out from our yard. I don't go out much on my own, but my YO rides out most days so I go with her. We have no off road riding at all round here, but the roads are not too bad. The nearest bridleway is about 6 miles away.

What a shame you have no one to ride with. Theres nothing I enjoy more than riding on th buckle end putting the world to rights with my friend. Could you not get a lift with one of the others?

Back before my horse had to be retired yes, I'd ride out daily. I hack to the school I use and have fantastic hacking round me, so make the most of it. I find it great for fitness and keeping the horses stimulated :)

I can ONLY ride out as I keep the horses at home and only have one smallish field which my mare absolutely hates schooling in (on the verge of being dangerous!) so have to hack but nowadays with the way things are I try to always meet someone - have 2 or 3 friends who hack out so we go to the river/forest etc. I would love to be able to do some schooling safely in a manege once or twice a week...I enjoy hacking but there are times it would be good to trot a circle or over some poles...
