Don't know about areas but as a vet nurse for 23yrs breeds def go in and out of fashion. Labradors are always popular as are spaniels but the breeds I see now compared to when I first started nursing have changed a lot.
Used to see more poodles especially miniature and toy. And corgi's, pekingese and westie's.
Can't remember the last time I saw Peke or a Corgi. GSD's, Rottie's and Dobermans arnt as popular as they once were. Rottie's definitely declined once tail docking was no longer allowed.
Nowadays we mainly see designer cross breeds, you can't just have a Heinz 57 anymore, Husky's, Chihuahuas, Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs etc and Staffies.
