So, in the example that you and your horse are having a problem in one way or another you can turn to 'your' instructor and say help!!
Or if you need advice on feeding/management do you have a qualified person to help you out?

I know this might have been done before - so appologies if Iam repeating something.

I do have the odd schooling problem, but I rely on my mum for imput and ideas, and so therefore do not have an instructor as its simply too expensive. I try to have 1 or 2 'proffesional' lessons each year, but thats it!
How about you?
 
I have an instructor but i also use this forum alot for varied responses on issues and i have some very knowledgable friends who i turn to alot.
My previous yo was a font of knowledge and i didnt realise how much i relied on her till i left there - damn it bloomin hindsight.:rolleyes:
 
The only way I ride is at the pony club, so yes! :). However when I had my loan pony, I would just get advice from the parents, friends, and pictures of me riding. I only had a few professional lessons from my friends mum, though I had been riding for a while before I had him on loan. Xx
 
I have weekly lessons with a very good instructor. i would also go to her for any other advice, or YO or friends etc. x
 
Yes, my YO is a BHSAI and I have had weekly lessons with her for the past 3 years. I also rely on her for anything to do with horsecare/feeding etc.
 
My daughter does have a trainer, but she is about 50 miles away so she goes & stays there for a couple of days every so often & has some intensive training. She's very reasonable with her prices so it works out well. My daughter works so she pays for her training & I drive the box, pay for fuel & upkeep of our lorry so we spilt costs. The trainer is also available at the end of the phone for advice. She was a GB international show jumper so she is very knowledgeable in most things horsey. We have a good relationship with her & daughter has improved tremendously in the 3 years we've been with her.

If you need feeding advice then use the free help lines which are available on most of the horse feed websites. They are prefessional & don't 'rubbish' other companies feeds, probably as most have similar feeds as evryone else but call it something else.
 
I have a lesson every couple of weeks. I'm not inexperienced, and I don't particularly have any issues at the moment, but I think it's easy to fall into lazy or bad habits otherwise and not even notice. All the pro's have trainers. My instructors also have regular lessons.
 
I have a flatwork lesson about every 3 weeks. Any longer than that and I start slipping into bad habits and Barney loses interest! General advice from my Mum, who although in her mid 70's had horses of her own for about 50 years, and friend who keeps her horse at livery with me, also HHO, magazines & books and good old common sense!
 
I have an instructor who is probably sick of the sight of me! I have regular fortnightly lessons but have had a few more lately. I am becoming increasingly dependent on my lessons, I feel I gain so much from them and I think they are having an amazingly positive impact on both my riding and my horses way of going (not to mention my confidence!) :)
 
I love lessons!!!
Have an instrustor for jumping and one for flatwork! they are invauluable, really help my confidence, esp on a yard where noone i would be able to get advice from!
 
I don't, never have, maybe one day when i win the lotto I'll be able too, I want a bloody good one though.
 
I have not had lessons for years. It is easy to fall in to bad habits but I find looking at photos or videos of myself really helps overcome that. I did up to stage 3 many years ago, it would be nice to go further but I have 5 ponies, 4 of whom are competing and I hope to compete number 5 too so all my spare money tends to go on show entry fees.
