does this horse look sore or lame?

She said it was an old video and she got vets and physios out. So hope she got it sorted. She said vet diagnosed stiffness, muscle weakness and bad saddle fit. I doubt that's all and she said horse still rears. But she genuinely seems to love horse and be sticking with it and trying to solve issues.

Interesting owner (I assume?) is saying video is years old...and another of the commenters (a friend of owner??) says vid was filmed earlier this year...Hm.

Very lame. It's also the sort of lameness that would really ring alarm bells for me. It looks like it's inherently unsound not just an injury.

There was someone who posted a video on here asking for votes for a dressage clinic a while ago. Stunning horse, lovely rider but the horse just looked so off to me. I didn't say anything, weirdly I think about that horse quite often and wonder if it's alright. Good on you for saying something, even if they didn't want to hear it.

Lame plus the tail says a lot, major tension when a tail is held high..poor horse...damn the riders and co...

I thought that as well - lame behind (very) and possibly bad back , judging by the angle of the tail. (Cause it clearly not an arab!!) Great riding (NOT).

Sad that people are laughing on the footage when the horse rears. Bet that horse has given out lots of subtle signs to its rider before that incident. Horses start whispering to us, then they move on to talking, then shouting, and eventually when they are at screaming point, and we have choosen to ignore them they display such behaviour. It is for us to listen to them, sadly this is a prime example of a horse screaming at its owner. And we can all see how this will end can't we?

I would say it is actually lame on both hind legs but the offside action could be just trying to compensate for the extremely lame/hitching near hind. I suppose the one good thing (and she clearly has had a lot of practice) is that the rider sat out the rear very well and didn't make it any worse for the horse.

I commented on the thread about the ?right hind and got 'too many people blame it on pain when it's just a competition fit horse with spark'. My reply was on the lines of 'too many people ride competition fit horses that are bloody lame!'

We have always blamed my horses behaviour on him being a hot sparky horse. Now we know this year he has a genetic muscle disease, ulcers and a sacroiliac injury. Most of the investigations were done on the basis that his eyes looked a bit dull, he became reluctant to move out under saddle or over reactive if he did and there was a minor shifting bilateral lameness. I think you could have missed it easily and pushed him through it to perform but I'm glad I didn't. He's so genuine but I think he too would have resorted to rearing if I had carried on. But we don't know what we don't know so you have to hope the owners of horses like this one, and like mine, have an epiphany and start to look for the root cause.

Oh my gosh...I just read the comments. Aside from the shocking grammar, that girl seems to want to big herself up for riding horses with issues, but can't seem to be able to spot that the issues are reactions to pain then laughs when people call her horse a megabitch. I hate when people are derogatory to thier animals when it's them making the behaviour worse by not spotting a problem! Those comments made me so angry!

The girl is an idiot. She says she lives for adrenaline yet she looked like she messed her pants a bit at the end clinging onto the horses neck for dear life. Lives for adrenaline my ass.

Horse is lame. Very cruel of them. Hope someone reports them.

I get embarrassed if my horses Buck, rear etc. Means I've failed as a horse person.

I didn't comment on the video as I was just left speechless. Looks like a friends horse is buggered stifles, hocks and suspensories.

Thank god i ain't the only one. I was mortified when i asked a show jumping rider to ride my horse and my horse started rearing and bucking as soon as i left the arena to go get the guy a stick. I mean my horse had been stabled for 3 weeks but not due to lameness it was a cut on his fetlock that would have kept reopening if he had moved too much so he was very fresh.

To be honest though I think he just didn't like the guy either. The rider seemed to think it was an act of dominance and that harley was trying to refuse listening to a male but I think he was just being a brat. I really doubt he would have behaved like that with me he wouldn't dare haha. I kept apologising and the guy just laughed and said not to worry about it but you still feel awful. I had told him he was a lovely horse then he tries to kill him.

Agree, looks to me like sore hocks as one problem, and laughing at the horses response is just disgusting!!

I have a term for people like that who laugh at a horse in obvious pain - HORSE TRASH......without tarring all teenagers with the same brush most Horse Trash is of the teenage girl variety who knows it all but knows nothing and is egged on by various chavvy friends and has an ego the size of Wales.....I hope someone reports her....makes me sooo mad. Poor horse.
