Does your horse lie down in the stable?

Just interested, my horse is a not of a stress head at home, and I don't ever see any evidence of her lying down, I.e. Squashed poo, shavings in her tail etc.
just interested really...
 
yes mine loves to lie down he is a lazy boy lol and he also throws the 2 other horse out of the double field shelter and has it all to himself lol x
 
I think my conne lies upside down, he's always got poo stains on the top of his bottom!! (and his face, his belly, his legs, his mane.........yes he's white :( )
 
All four of ours lie down. Interestingly the now four year old we bought last summer, who had not been stabled till the people we bought her from backed her, is so happy lying down, that she doesn't always bother getting up when you go in with her :)
 
I've never seen mine lay down in a stable. But I've seen evidence she does every night. Squashed poos and stains on her rug, lovely!

Yes :D both boys come in, eat breakfast and retire to their beds.
 
One of mine wont lie down in the field if the ground is wet, if we get a couple of wet days on the trot he gets arsey through lack of proper rest and has to come in for a sleep!
 
Two of my mine do regularly, the other one does occasionally and one would never lie down in the stable, rarely lies down in the field as he's bottom of the rankings! My mare has more of a "eek don't like down, scary things could eat you" attitude and my geldings seem to have the response "oh well, will worry about that after my nap". seriously, nothing shifts my coloured when he wants a sleep, I've tried ! (when I had to leave for a show in 20 mins and he just wanted a lye in).

Day after he arrived from Ireland! clearly stressed out and nervous of us ;) he was sitting up until we went in for a cuddle, then he realised we were standing watch over him so he lay flat out and went sleep :)
 
RB does, but thankfully he only does it if his bed is clean. No poo stains on him, ever. Harry used to and was quite happy to add patches where he has none. Not sure about Obie as he's kept out, but my nephews pony does it every night at 11 til about 5-6.
 
Both of mine love it. Have quite often caught them having 90 winks if we come up at an unexpected time. Our mare in particular flattens al her poo, and as she is skewbald, can quite often resemble a bay.
 
Very very occasionally (have only found evidence ie straw on back a couple of times). He LOVES to roll in the field (his fav thing in the whole entire world apart from eating) but have never seen him laid out dozing.
 
The 2 boys lay down in the field and stable all the time, have loads of photos. Only ever seen Dolly laying down in the stable once, that was 12 years ago. I know she does, and she has the stains to prove it. Have seen her laying down in the field probably twice.
 
I thought my boy rarely laid down in his new stable during the day, but was informed he got up as soon as he heard my van, previous stable, he got up just as he heard me walking up to his stable. When he was very young I used to stable him for a few hours to let him rest as he was so active in the field, I have a piccy of me and him sharing a duvet moment, I had just bought him a brand new quilted rug to keep him warm when clipped, he was unimpressed by the expensive present, and was still on his siesta time.

Oh, my boys have all been a bit of stay in beds freaks. This was the Charlie-man having a "duvet day", I have photos of him laid down being dressed up, sat on, laid with. He liked the interaction.

Jay boy is funny. He will get up for breakfast, but then I go inside to shower, dress and have breakfast myself. If I am prompt all is well and we can continue with the day. If I have a second cup of tea that is it, Jay boy is back to bed, and then he is impossible to prise from under the covers.

If I try to force Jay out of bed he will pull hideous faces, and generally I start doing other stuff, like taking the water, filling nets, whatever until he heaves himself back up, stretches, farts, pees then poos. He is such an old gimmer, all of those things in that precise order in his little morning routine.

All mine lie down, my boy seems to wait till he just did a nice fresh warm poo and wallop down he goes covering his rug and himself in it.
