Today my boss (Hi Jen!) had her working dog (BC) attacked by a fox while at home. Dog was in the garden (he lives outside) and a fox joined him! Fox came over to the dog and then started trying to attack him. Poor Bob (the dog) couldn't get away and tried to hide in his kennel but the fox carried on. Luckily my boss lives on a farm so called her father in law who jumped over a wall with a 12 ball (?) gun and shot mr foxy dead. They couldn't scare the fox away just by yelling at him and they didn't want to risk getting bitten as she has young girls. This was at 8 this morning!
Sad for mr fox but at least it was quick but luckily Bob is okay and seems to be not affected at all.
Just made me wonder how your dogs are with foxes? Scoobs and I regularly meet foxes where we walk and he always want to try and go after them but I don't know what I would do if a fox came over and started attacking him. I don't generally carry a gun around with me! I'm hoping this situation is very rare but the foxes are getting braver!
