Hi Everyone,

My collie Zak has recently injured his paw pad (basically it was hanging off!) And I want to get him some protective boots for when we are walking to the fields. Unfortunately we have to walk up some alley ways and there is smashed glass etc and I am so worried he will cut his pads again. I ordered some from doggiestyle.co.uk but they didnt fit. He is 10cm length (Well actually a bit smaller than that but want to give him room) x 6cm width. Does anyone have any ideas? I would take them off for him to run.
At the moment I am vet wrapping him but its a bit of nightmare.

Thanks in advance, cookies and tea for reading :)

go to www.canineconcepts.com they have a selection. I needed some when my girl had ulcerated paws from nasty medication, I bought the rescue boots that the earthquake dogs use - they are brilliant! The guys there are really helpful give them a call and they'll size up for you.

I have tried just about every kind of boot for my dogs. None stay on. they twist to the side or the slightest bit of mud or water and they are off.

These simple ones though are awesome. I have only ever had one come off and that was in 6 foot of snow and they are so cheap it was easy to replace.

I had a customer with a similar problem and made her some dog boots using rubber floor mats for a car (about 3 quid each which makes a few boots), neoprene and velcro. It was hard work getting it right and I'm no expert on them but it did the trick!
There's quite a few companies now who make them, I have even seen some that resemble human trainers but are dog shaped!
I'm in the process of designing a elbow protector for a dog who has a badly wounded elbow and needs NO pressure on it whatso ever as most of the protectors on the market just cushion it a bit.
Hope you find what you are looking for son, Oz :)
