Dog in hospital.

Sorry to read this @frazzled , what a sad time for you, Ted and your other dog. Ted sounds like he was a real character and I love the picture you posted, he was a handsome chap. The end is always hard, but it sounds like Ted had a good life and you didn't prolong his end which is what I think we owe our pets- the difficult final decision we make is the 'price' we pay for all of the wonderful times before that.

I hope that you and your other dog are ok, and that happy memories of Ted overtake the sadness before too long.

We are all here “ incognito” but the fact we all return daily is because we are all here for each other.
Im sorry for your news of Ted.

Weve dodged a bullet today..good news from the op doc..but it could easily have gone either way.Your Ted was a lovely little man.My schnauzer( with her get out of jail card today) salutes him.

So sorry for your loss, Ted sounds like a fabulous character and I hope in time you can take comfort in the fact that the end was so quick and he didn't suffer. When we had ashkii pts we let noodle in to see the body but she was more interested in seeing if the vet had treats and mugging me for the remainder of ashkiis that I'd been feeding him. It seemed to hit her badly the next morning, like when he still wasn't there she remembered having seen his body and put it all together. We had to change some things around for the next week so she wasn't on her own for long but after about a week she adapted.

So sorry for your loss, it's so heart breaking to lose one. And so suddenly too. My thoughts are with you. The memories you have of Ted are yours to treasure forever.

For the pups that are left behind... every one is different but we have found keeping blankets or belongings of the dog that has passed in the house so that their smell is still around can help give comfort. We only realised this once when we had taken some things away and got them back out as part of a tidy up, and the remaining dog went and lay down on them.

So sorry about Ted ☹️💔. I lost a 12 year old GSD to the same thing a few years ago and it really is quick. Take some comfort from the fact he didn’t suffer. RIP Ted. I hope your other dog copes okay @frazzled x

I have only just seen this. What a lovely boy Ted was. It sounds as if he didn't suffer long at all. So sorry for your loss.
