Millie lurcher is the first dog I’ve thought of insuring for many years, as she specialises in out of hours call outs! Last time it was to be stitched up.... now she isn’t let off the lead, so this morning (on a bank holiday Millie, really??!!!) she had a horribly swollen eyelid. No idea how she has done it, she went out in the garden last night about 9pm and yelped! I thought she might have got something in the eye (a piece of grass as I mowed the lawn yesterday) but neither the vet or I could find anything....
Millie is recovering well with a collar, some Metacam and eye ointment twice a day (she earned massive brownie points by standing completely still when I put the ointment in this afternoon!)
Am I right in thinking that, like horses, both of those conditions would now be excluded from insurance? I’m wondering if it’s worth it with a lot of exclusions already! She is only about 3 - PetPlan quote came out as £250ish last time I asked as she is officially a mongrel!
