As per Maisie's excellent advice I gave my three a lot of vegetables with their rabbit mince tonight - I HATE vegetables, the smell made me feel ill as they were cooking, but the dogs loved them and ate them all  Weirdos

Do yours eat veg?

Our pup who will be moving in, in the next few weeks will be on a raw diet and having raw liquidised fruit and veg with his meat and bones!!

Yeah ours do. They have veg mixed in with their mince a few times a week, left over veg from sunday roast with a bit of gravy and sometimes we make ice cubes with blended veg which they like.

Peanuts *adores* vegetables, when I had the horses at home she was begging for carrots every time I chopped them! Beezle will eat them if mixed with something else but not on their own.

Ah, forgot to say that Peanuts also adores pears, it's a huge problem in the summer as she actually steals the pears from our pear trees (she jumps up and shakes the branches making them fall, it's incredible) so she can't really be left in the garden unsupervised :(

Yup, broccoli is favourite followed by carrots and peas. The only time she's ever stolen food from the kitchen worktops was to steal a piece of steamed broccoli, ignoring the parcel of poached chicken right next to it.

LMAO BC :D Oh well, no accounting for tastes :o I can see that veg will become a regular part of my shopping list each week now :o

I seem to have a fridge full of raw meat and wine :D

I chuck them a carrot every now and then but i don't feed it to them. It does very little for them and is a pita because they can only digest it when it is blended.

Both of mine wander round the yard stealing carrots all the time!:D They will also steal veg from the basket in the larder:rolleyes: - swede, cauliflower, beetroot and as for fruit - absolutely anything they can get thier paws round!! my two will also go rummaging on the compost heap through any waste scraps i have thrown away - mingers!!

Our old lab used to pick apples from the tree as well :)- we used to catch her climbing on things to reach the apples and pears - not happy with just windfalls!!:D:D

Brig isn't interested but Jake liked everything bar onions and leeks. He was very fond of sprout stalks. I didn't feed them but he always got ends of whatever I was preparing.

The YO's dog is a demon for wandering the yard nicking carrots out of feeds.

Popple loves her veggies! She pinches the horses' carrots, often has peas in her meals, and will come running at the sound of you at the chopping board to see what's going. She eats raw courgettes, cabbage leaves, sprouts, green beans, even cucumber. I'm told by a vet friend that they shouldn't have broccoli or asparagus though. And although I let her have apple and pear cores, we remove the pips, as I understand they aren't good for them either.

mine love carrots, parsnips, apples plumes, all fruit really and nearly all veg, my border collie will take a apple of the tree and eat it, keep meaning to get it on video and put in u be framed, so funny, if i ask get me a apple he will and then he gets him self one too, but i give mine to horses as his slabber on it lol.

onions is poisin to dogs like chocolate, dont give it to them.

See the sticky re things that are bad for dogs at the top of this section. Some interesting things in there.

JR loves carrots and apple and will eat most cooked veg with good gravy.
Collie not fussed but tends to copy JR in most things including looking down every rabbit hole.

Mine are carrot thieves as well, daren't leave horses feeds out, not quite the same but Buffy loves the donkeys ready mash, I really have to fight her off it. Never knew that about apples, at this time of year mine eat the cookers that fall off the tree, I do usually stop them after a couple, will have to be more careful now. Before she was spayed Buffy had a couple of phantoms at this time of year and she always collected a "litter" of apples and looked after them in her bed.:p

Digger loves veg. Hugos a bit more fussy but they both love raw carrots and go round stealing from the horses bowls who don't have covers/

Yes both mine eat veggies, they have to be chopped small for the littlie though as he wont eat huge branches of broccoli but other than that no problem.

I boil cook carrots, cabbage & broccoli & rice to mix in with my dogs chicken mince.
They also have a good balanced dog maintenace biscuits.

They are all Greyhounds too all 4 of them.

XxX

Perrie we need PHOTOS please :):):):):):) Welcome to the AAD part of the forum, all skinny dogs are always very popular and well loved :D:D

Misty's a bit of an odd one like that, if I'm making a salad she will thieve any bits that fall including cucumber, tomato, onion, carrot...! Even beetroot she'll eat.
Not sure the dog is right tbh :o but we love her all the same!!
Kx
