Does your dog have a really firm favourite?

As a puppy we gave ours a teddy to sleep with and still at 18 months its carried everywhere and slept with. If its missing he will go search for it and display really obvious happiness at finding it.
When I get home from work (with the dog) I open the front door and he knows to go into the kitchen not the living room (carpeted!) He's really good about this...UNLESS teddy is on the carpet within view at which point all training go's out the window, he leaps in, grabs teddy then trots into the kitchen!! (my fault, I need to make sure either the doors shut or to chuck teddy into the kitchen before we leave in the morning!)
There is not a huge amount left of teddy, a body but no head and little stuffing and I regularly pick bits of him up :(
None of my other dogs have had such a loved item, they had toys but would be as likely to get one of them as any other.
This is like a small child (If I wash teddy and put it on the line dog lies underneath til its dry!)
Does anyone elses dog have a cherished object?

Mine lives and dies by his Goughnut. Its the only toy that has lasted and its rarely more than 2m from him. If he does mislay it, he'll search quite literally for hours until its found. If its been thrown and he can't reach it, he'll just lie nearby until I go and rescue it. He should have been a search and rescue dog.

Mine has got a little goose, it's got a squeaky head but it's got no stuffing- never did have. He had it as a puppy and even now at 3 he just carries it around with him it's still in one piece and still squeaks. He doesn't seem as attached to it as your guys but it is the only toy which has survived this long and he genuinely carries it with such care when he holds it just cradling the head in his mouth but not actually shutting his teeth.

Mine has a stuffed octopus which she loves. It is one of the few toys which have survived her chewing. She even tried to mate with it when she was in season!

mine has a stuffed dog like creature we call Rufus, and boy does he love Rufus. If he's under the weather it's a Rufus snuggle that makes everything better.

Ava has a bunny that we gave her to chew after she had shredded stuff she shouldn't have. It has no face left, and is losing it's stuffing, but does still have its ears. Other than her antler chew it's definitely her favourite toy. She loves to throw it in the air and catch it, pounce on it and carry it round the house and if you ask her for bunny she will run off to find it. She won't take it in garden though and always puts it down before going outside.

My younger gsd loves anything that he can get in his mouth. Sticks. Socks. Pants. Plant pots. Tv remote. Cushions. Cushion innards. Dining table. Dining room walls. The hoover. Various tools. Bottles. Rocks. Slippers. Tubs of moisturiser. His brother.

He does have a strong attachment to a Starmark ball that we got him, but we were worried about him obsessively chewing so he only gets that while we are out.

My older gsd doesn't touch toys. Go figure.

Mine had a toy pig she was inseperable from until she was around 2, unfortunately she used to chew her dental sticks and other sorts of treat on top of it so it stunk and we had to throw it away! She hasn't been attached to any of her others toys apart from that one.

Zak likes things he can play tug with, although picking up a shoe is top favourite because he knows it gets our attention. His bed works too, he drags blankie round lots! He likes stealing bits of paper I throw in a rubbish fashion towards the woodburner, too.

Bear loves his deflated oversize tennis ball, favourite toy which gets scooped up in passing and must be picked up before going in the garden, getting tea, having a treat.

He and Zak are utterly obsessed with retrieving balls and dummies when out. Stops the bu&&ers running off after deer!

Brig doesn't care for toys unless there's a dummy being thrown on walks. He's decided he'd like to be a gundog after 11 years. :rolleyes3:

My dal also has a much loved teddy that we gave her on day one! It's now 3 years old! It's still just about alive, few holes but she doesn't ever play with it, just cuddles it!
If she's ever nervous (which is quite a lot!) she runs to find it and brings it back to wherever she got scared!
Can't go away without it or she won't settle.
