Dogs, footpaths and horses

The stuff about being non confrontational is beginning to annoy me! If you found someone in your garden shed, or wandering through your borders with their off lead dog digging up the petunias, would you be all Uriah Heap with them? I think most people would tell them to get out, in no uncertain terms, why is a person and their dog ok to run riot on other parts of a person's property?
There are times being non confrontational is a good idea especially if one is a lone female. However if I found someone on my land I ŵould be loudly confrontational and would have a gun slip over my shoulder it might not contain a gun but nobody else would know 😉

Agreed - one shoots the dog because one can’t shoot the owner, who will be the root cause.
The caution comes from vindictive and vandalous people, who subsequently take out their spite on your animals and property, which is impossible to police in open pasture.
Social media hyperbole, threats against children - well documented, too often mixed into animal rights or class issues, unfortunately.
