Hello.
This is a follow up from my original donkey foalwatch thread, until i was sent abuse publically and through private messages.. some which were very personal and cruel..

As some of you know, i was getting advised by my vet re; P's nutrition because of the situation we were in. And thanks to the wonderful advice from the vet and experianced friends...
P had a healthy foal last tuesday, with no warning at all, she had bagged up slightly more but nothing else.. checked her at 9pm monday night and no sign of baby!
Checked again at 6am on tuesday morning and baby was stood up suckling and all dried off!
A big strong colt foal, P is a very good mother, producing lots of milk and following the little terror everywhere..
Anyway, he is now a week old and is a real character!
Here are a few pictures...

so... a few questions..
1) the little man doesnt have a name, I want to stay away from the usual donkey names, like jack, eeyore etc.. so any suggestions welcome!
2) we are planning on keeping him, and obviously want him gelded. When would be the best time to do this? As soon as they drop? Or over the winter?
3) he is very in your face, how/when should i start 'telling him off' and setting boundries..

thankyou all for reading, thought i would post an update because there were many people who were interested in her progress, if any of you have any comments which are personal towards me then please private message me, dont start using this thread as an excuse for a bun fight..

Amazing that all of him fit into her only a week ago!! He is gorgeous! Such beautiful eyes and ears! And the stripes are stunning!

I'm lousy at names...

Big Ears! Sorry, couldn't resist that...I'm rubbish at names too. I reckon you will chance upon one that suits him. He is very cute and I love his markings.
The only donkeys I have known well have all been mares bar one so can't even take inspiration from that.

Billy does sound very cute!
He's a cheeky little fella, very friendly and confident..
Hoping to break P to harness next year once the foal is weaned, and then once the foal is old enough hopefully pairs? As they are identical colours and markings!
But will be showing both of them in hand next year aswell.. will just see how is goes really!

HGA-12 - Thank you for that link.

I have a mule foal and have been looking for inspiration in naming him. Lots of great ideas there!

bjartur - Your donkeys are beautiful!

I think he is gorgeous! Very cute. How about something like Buttons. I'm not normally a fan of 'human' names on animals but I do like the suggestion of Bertie above. Or Bertie Buttons!

he is gawguss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and mum looks lovely as well. glad you are keeping him, you should have fun..

the name that came to mind was MILO or

rocky
mischief
wizard
Rupert
