Hello.
This is a follow up from my original donkey foalwatch thread, until i was sent abuse publically and through private messages.. some which were very personal and cruel..
As some of you know, i was getting advised by my vet re; P's nutrition because of the situation we were in. And thanks to the wonderful advice from the vet and experianced friends...
P had a healthy foal last tuesday, with no warning at all, she had bagged up slightly more but nothing else.. checked her at 9pm monday night and no sign of baby!
Checked again at 6am on tuesday morning and baby was stood up suckling and all dried off!
A big strong colt foal, P is a very good mother, producing lots of milk and following the little terror everywhere..
Anyway, he is now a week old and is a real character!
Here are a few pictures...
so... a few questions..
1) the little man doesnt have a name, I want to stay away from the usual donkey names, like jack, eeyore etc.. so any suggestions welcome!
2) we are planning on keeping him, and obviously want him gelded. When would be the best time to do this? As soon as they drop? Or over the winter?
3) he is very in your face, how/when should i start 'telling him off' and setting boundries..
thankyou all for reading, thought i would post an update because there were many people who were interested in her progress, if any of you have any comments which are personal towards me then please private message me, dont start using this thread as an excuse for a bun fight..
