Yey, I've suspended him from the rafters with some plaited string and he's busy chewing on the windscreen wipers so problem solved.
Next problem, do you think I'll be able to return him to full work or should I look for a companion home for him?

Full work. You don't want to waste your money. Use the celery as the third leg, won't need sheoing.

Returning to full work shouldnt be a problem. Just be sure to have his back, tack and teeth checked before you start. I'm sure the farrier can fit him with a built up shoe.

Ahh shite, am defrosting leg and the dog has just got hold of it. Only a couple of chunks missing, never mind. Is part frozen horse meat ok for jack russells or should I book him in with the vet as well.
I'm not going to be walking very well for several days...........

Why not put the whole horse in the freezer with the leg, just for a day or two til the vet can get out? How did it drop off? Is it still under guarantee?

Eventually, but they are not very reliable, every chance your leg would end up back to front. I've heard that can be quite troublsome for going up and down stairs.

Get the doctor to sew your leg back on, with a local anasthetic, watch carefully what he does, then do the same proceedure on your horse. there problem solved.

Have you thought about investing in one of those industrial staple guns - you could glue the leg back on, then staple round the edge for extra strength.

You will never be able to ride him again as he will not be able to turn to the side of the missin leg

Unless its a back leg, and then there will be no problem.

As for the dog..... just wait and see if it gets better.

I've traded him in for some power tools and a dodgy quadbike down at the local pikey camp. The guy said he'll have him in a cart in no time, the traces will hold him up!
