dressage help please what score would you give me

Person with camera 40% at best! you on horse around 60% every time I thought the movement could be a 7 something spoilt it, the free walk started very promisingly then he almost jogged and lost the opportunity to get a better mark, the same with the final centre line it was looking good then he messed about in the transition.
He is generally behind the leg which is why your hands seem to move so much, the more they move the more he drops behind the leg so it is a vicious circle of him not quite going forward enough and you fiddling to keep him round, try and sit up and send him in front of you worry less about where his head is and it should actually all become more smooth with you being less busy .

Thank you really helpful, he stumbled in the FW, frustratingly in our lesson yesterday he was so forward I really could keep my hands still. He really backs off and stumbles when he gets tence in tests. Will getting out more help today was a completely new venue or maybe spurs just at comps.

I did p17 today, one thing here, and maybe it's the angle of the camera but after the 20m in canter you do a kind of half circle that chops the bottom of the school off before going straight into your diagonal line, it looked in the vid like you went right down to the end of the school, but like I said, it might just be the angle. Other than that you have the same problem as me: shuffley legs, I know I need to sharpen my boy up and try and keep my legs still and off when not in use. No idea on a score, we got 64.8% today and I don't think you were worse than me!

If he can go forward at home it will come once he relaxes away from home, I would be warming up really getting him off the leg doing loads of transitions and making myself stop fiddling in the hope he stays listening, you may find spurs help.
Going out and doing a test as a clear round or HC can be useful in that you don't worry about being accurate just concentrate on the quality of the work rather than trying to ride a safe accurate but uninspiring test, be ready to send him off when you ask risking him breaking or losing the accuracy of the movement, if you ride him confidently forward he should take the confidence he requires to carry himself and in the end the marks will improve, he has good paces but is not showing them for more than a few strides at a time.

I like him a lot. Nice rhythm and decent hind leg action, just looks a bit tense through his neck occasionally and uneven in the contact. Around 62 - 64 percent would be my guess.

Firstly, he looks a lovely horse and I think you've got potential for some really good work, there were some lovely moments. For me though today, this test was just a bit inconsistent and lacked fluency. I'd hazard a guess at 58-59%.

For me the test was between sufficient and (mostly) satisfactory so I would expect the score to be a minimum of 55% from a harder marking judge going to 65% from a more gnerous one so it would depend on how the judge was marking the whole class. like the others once he can relax through the whole of movements instead of having little things that let the judge drop a bit and let you present each movement you can see that you will easily get higher marks

Between 58-62% depending on the generosity of the judge.
Some of the trot work showed promise, but he wasnt really through to a secure contact at any stage . Also pretty crooked in the canter.

Thanks all thats really helped me, he has recently started to be straight and truly in front of the leg in lessons, he now needs to become more confident in a competition environment. Only in the last month has he remembered that his back legs need to stay under him in canter.

He got 58.9% I now understand why there isn't much local weekend bd in the next few weeks so im going to try to fit lots of lessons in. Im really learning so much with him and am completely loving it who knew dressage coukd be fun!

Bless him it was sooooo windy at Vale View and a pigeon flew under his front legs while we were warming up and bless him he had little leap and then got straight back on with it.

Thanks for all ths lovely comments about him I really think he could be super special with a bit more time and a improvement in the numpty on top!
