What would people recommend as an ideal dressage legal snaffle type bit that i can use on my PRE boy? he's currently ridden in a rubber pelham and goes beautifully in it, but obvs not dressage legal at the low levels! Thanks :)

a pelham isnt dressage legal at ANY level.

There a hundreds of dressage legal snaffles out there, without more information about your horses mouth conformation its nigh on impossible to reccomend a bit.

However I find most horses go well in a french link loose ring snaffle if they are ridden and schooled correctly,.

I would consult with Neue Schule. I use their bits exclusively on all my horses and find them effective and kind. They just did a consultation with me in 1 day for one of my horses. They recommended the Turtle Top snaffle which is a new bit they have recently designed, it looks very good and it will be interesting to see if she prefers that to the starter bit she is currently in.

Look at the mouth piece of the Pelham you are using, and try to match that? And perhaps on a hanging cheek to give similar stability?

I'd also start with the same mouthpiece. The PRE that I ride goes well in a nathe mullen mouth snaffle.
