Hi

Yard has just had mirrors installed however I have concerns over where they are placed as you can only ever see youself on the left rein! the are also at the end of each long side.
Does anyone know a document which advises where to position these. Hopefully several of us can gently persuade them to move. I aslo think they are better horizotally along the short side as opposed to vertically on the end on each long side.

?? confused - I just think they are limiting what is seen.

Where are they placed at the moment then? I'm not sure I understand properly! I do find them useful at the end of a long side though - e.g. for shoulder in, to help maintain 3 tracks (or on a crooked horse, to maintain 2 tracks when you are trying to go in straight lines!)

How many do you have? (I'm very jealous btw, have always wanted mirrors at home - only get to use them at shows/trainer's yard)

They have 2 sets of 3, these are placed at either end of the long side in a group of 3 and are vertical.

Just thought it does not let you see any circle or straightness away from the wall, yes agree that its handy for shoulder in etc .

Just think its better having them sideways across one short side with maybe on tallways so you can see shoulder in etc - but from my experience you can see the horse even if they are sideways.

thanks

maybe there is a reason why they are positioned where they are? could it be anything to do with how the light catches on them or maybe how they are fixed up? Just a thought as i know when we were considering where to put ours we had to take that into consideration also.
