Dressage schoolmaster lessons in London/Surrey

Hi, before I start I did do a search for this topic but all of the threads were a few years old and so I thought it would be wise to start a new one :). I am training my horse at the moment and he is very promising, although he has thrown a few problems at me over the last couple of years we are coming through them and he is going well at the moment. However my confidence has been dented a few times. I am working hard to overcome that and having lessons every so often on a friend's safe schoolmaster to help make my seat extra-secure and boost my confidence, however I would really like to have some dressage schoolmaster lessons too. I think it would be great for me to get away from my livery yard comfort zone and ride elsewhere (riding lots of different horses at the yards I work on has enhanced my confidence recently), plus I want some more inspiration for working with my horse and realising that I can do it.

So any recommendations of where I could have regular lessons (thinking monthly due to expense) with a dressage schoolmaster would be appreciated. I am in south-west London and close to Surrey so I am not too far from Andrew Gould or Oldencraig, opinions on those and others appreciated!

I've been doing some research on this too and had two places recommended. There's a riding school at Ham House run by Minette Rice Edwards and apparently they're hot on seat and lunge lessons etc - http://hamhousestables.com. I've not tried to book anything though.

There is also Lomond Classical Riding Centre in Horley (by Gatwick airport), I've been trying to get in touch with them but no response so far :( http://www.lomondclassicalridingcentre.co.uk

Contessa or Hallingbury Hall, both have websites if you google x
 
Thank you both :). I do sometimes have lessons with a good friend of Minette's who runs a yard near there in Petersham; I work there on an ad-hoc basis and get cash plus a lesson every time I work, so that is really helpful. I may well try to have a lesson with the actual Minette, who will probably be horrified that I have never had a lunge lesson in my whole life!!

Will google the others, thanks! Have heard good things about Lomond and heard of Contessa, but not Hallingbury Hall.

Had a lesson at Oldencraig. I consider myself reasonably fit and ride mine as well....


Got in the car and steamed up the inside. THAT'S how hard I worked!
 
Eeek! I am reasonably fit and and school mine for 30-45 mins at a time, but that sounds rather challenging! Maybe I'll have a few more pilates lessons first (just started) to strengthen my core a bit more. How did you find the lesson and have you been back since?
 
I live in SW London/surrey too, and ride at Wellington Riding every week. If you can get there its well worth the travel as my (very nervous) mother has had lessons on a very confidence giving dressage school master on the lunge who has been a saint, but hes also used for the advanced riders as well because hes fully trained in dressage to a high level. Highly recommend :)
