In a moment of wine-fuelled insanity on Friday night I put in a late entry for Radway dressag today. Decided to put Mustard in the prelim 12 and Moon in the novice 30.
Got up stupidly early for a Sunday and trundled off with the two of them looking really quite scruffy. I knew it would be dreadful because they are totally inseperable and incapable of behaving sensibly when left without each other!!
As predicted, Moon kicked up a fuss when I took Mustard out and it was very embarrassing that they were calling to each other the whole time during the warm up and my test
Mustard was actually very good, very settled and willing. He was totally baffeld with the idea of doing dressage where previously he swears we did fun jumping!! He was looking all over the place but he's great because he isnt spooky or tense so I think he'll come on nicely. It was a little unfair on him as he his schooling has been abandoned recently and he isnt working into a consistant contact yet but he did everything in the right places and did some nice bits. Got 56.4% and that didnt leave us last. Yay!!
Then a really quick change over to Moon as I didnt have much time. Warmed her up for 10 mins and she felt good. Did a really nice test, novice 30 is quite hard for her as it seemes to include everything she's worst at but she suprised me by getting 7s in the bits I thought she'd find hard and 5s in the easy walk work (not quite sure why, she normally scores well for her walk.....)
Finished with 61.5% so fairly ok. We did come 4th as well (but I'm not telling you how many it was out of
)
So good day really, I doubt I'll have to take them anywhere together again in the near future.
