Dressage trainers in or near the north west?

Oh no, I do... but he has cancelled the clinic next week, and the next one is only at the end of March and I don't want to leave it that long. I am definitely continuing having lessons with him, but would like someone else to fill in the gaps too

There is obviously Jo (are you not training with her now?)

But other than that, off the top of my head, there is-

Barbara Miller shes got a good rep & travels- lovely lady! (will dig out her number if you PM me)
Di Breeze- shes based in Cheshire, shes excellent! Shes got a lovely indoor as well.
Richard Carruthers, hes an eventer but is a good trainer. He's based in Warrington.

Probably come up with some more later!

I only know of Sue Bradshaw, but she's in the Wirral.
My RI took her daughter to someone near Myerscough, and was raving about him, but I can't remember his name

He's involved in BDYR's selection if that helps

Have you looked in the back of your BD mag? as they will have the senior trainers for your area in there and when/where they are training. Then all you need to do is book it through your RDO (who is also in the back of BD mag!)x

Can I confess now... I have lost my BD mag

Isn't Jo back teaching again after her op?

A friend of mine had a lesson with Jane Green last week and said she was really good. She is hoping to teach at Cockshot every fortnight so if you give Nikki a ring I'm sure she could sort you out

QR The Moodies are based nr Sheffield. Clive Halsall does a clinic at Eccleston and is quite popular. Sue Stewart is very good, based nr Preston. Fiona Lace is quite close. Silvia Schorn. or Stephen Clarke thru NDG. pm if you want numbers.!

Where on earth is that... my English geography is poo!

I cannot believe we have such a shortage up here!!!

There are no Emiles, Spencers, Andrews etc etc up here

I would love to have a lesson with him too! My trainer (Dorothy Johnson) used to teach him years ago. I think he would actually be quite fun!
I can highly recommend Barbara Miller (Pm for her no if you want) and also did a clinic with Clive which I loved!
Obviously would also recomend DJ but dont know how far she would travel (can ask on Friday if you like?)

Thank you fatarse2, I've been wracking my brains trying to remember who my RI went to. It was Clive Halsall, in Preston

It wasn't me - it was my RI's daughter, but she was very impressed with him. I just got the lesson report 2nd hand!
I think they'd been having problems with the canter, she's got a welsh sec D to ride, and she was going 4-time and rushing, and he really improved it within the one lesson.
The horse is more experienced than the rider, but by the end of the lesson they were half-passing brilliantly, which she'd never done before.
In fact, they were out competing novice the next week, and my RI had to tell her daughter to stop doing it in the warm-up

Ive had a lesson with Stephen Clarke and I must admit I though we were way out of his league especially when I saw all the posh boxes and posh WB's but he was wonderful, thought my baby was worth her weight in gold, said we were a team and couldn't praise us enough, I must admit, they had to widen the doors of the arena to get my big head out - he he he - We even had people coming to my trailer saying they had enjoyed my lesson so much and that we were the stars of the day.

Sorry to go on, but its the first time Ive told anyone this and once I started typing I couldn't stop.
I went to a clinic at Osbaldeston - you should go to him he really is very nice and not at all scary.

Ohh, I had lessons with Mrs Johnson for 6 months last year! I used to get off very red in the face and with breathing difficulties, lol!! She is tough, but amazing!

ETS: she loves to tell me the story of when Stephen Clarke went to Germany, and they told him he had fingers like english sausages!!
