well done (Y) nd everyone tells me i should get into xc because of her breed and her love to go as fast as she can, but i much prefer the idea of dressage + show jumping, which will hopefully help me control her a lot better aswell
Steph Croxford's horse, Mr President, is a Gelderlander, which is most definitely not a "traditional" dressage breed (carriage horse), but he's gone to GP level !
My IDxTB mare was very successful at dressage and you see lots and lots of that type out and about.
It is deffo about the right training and correct way of going not the breed. Look at my cob - he's not built for dressage (would make a great brick out-house though!) but is doing fine.
No idea if the same is true higher up the levels but you see all sorts at prelim to medium.
Thanks for all the comments, I'm only 13 so would only b prelim + novice so no need to worry about high level dressage :L, but would like to buy a dressage horse when i am older
George is a tb x shire who was bred as a hunter and when I got him had pretty much only gone in straight lines and done jumping! We are doing fine at prelim level.
I compete my cob at dressage and she can score 67% at prelim...not moved onto novice yet although she is at novice level at home, we have also just affilliated
