duvet or under-rug?

Which is best for the winter? Obviously a duvet will be thicker so warmer, but I guess it will slip on a clipped pony? So in that way i am thinking a proper under rug? Opinions please??

I have a couple of Rambo Duo under-rugs and I have used them under non-horseware rugs. They have always stayed put even with just the back clips attaching them to the outer rug. They are expensive, so I've looked out for them at cut prices.

I love a duvet, not had any slipping problems, I put it about half way up neck then folded the corners round the front of the chest them rug over the top

Love my Rambi duo liners. So easy and no faffing or bits getting soggy or slipping.

I used to use duvets, I got a material dog collar and cut it in half and sewed it to the front. The duvet would go half way up the neck, never slipped, and was cosy under a stable rug. I stopped doing it when under rugs became widely available, some are only about £30 odd, and are a blue or black which looks better than white with brown patches!

Proper under rug, duvets are too much hassle!

Duvet - putting a sheet on first stops them slipping.

Hate duvets I use under rugs , thermatexs , another stable rug what ever works on each horse but never a duvet .

Under rugs are easy to wash. Duvets smell of urine and don't dry out easily.

There's a real art to using duvets. I've never discovered it - so just use under rugs.
