Rooni went SJ/XC on Saturday and he was fab. Only looked at the things you’d expect (ditch, water and big house coming out the water). Was so so so good.

And today a session on the flat, he was super duper. My friend had a sit on him and he was immaculately behaved too.

Survived camping...just...the 24 hours of torrential rain plus the 3 and a half hours of standstill traffic on the way down didn't help! But the sun the rest of the week made up for it :)

Rode yesterday and did a bit of jumping, considering I haven't ridden for over a week, plus haven't jumped since I went to the ODE on the 12th June we flew round! Popped over some very easy 70s and an 80 a couple of times. this is only in our field at home but Buzz was definitely enjoying himself and was nice and forward, such a fun, confidence building ride ahead of out hunter trial on Sun :)

I edited my post and most of it disappeared, so I'm going to try this again ?

We hacked on Saturday, gave him the day off on Sunday, and we were back in the school on Monday. I'm really loving this Amerigo saddle. It gives me a good place to sit and my seat bones seem to make contact correctly. My last saddle was too deep which doesn't work if you've got some junk in your trunk, I think.

Horse feels really good and I feel like I can feel him more. Gently easing back to work after a week or so off from riding following his last physio appointment (just long lined and hand walked until new saddle arrived). Fingers crossed this saddle continues to work well for us and all is good at the next physio appointment in a few weeks.

I had a lovely weekend.

I had my now fairly regular fancy lesson on Saturday. I asked to work on the counter canter. My lad finds it easy on the left canter (right rein) but with the right canter he's so quick to pop a change in. To be fair, they are lovely clean changes but not what we are after. We need to be able to do a half 20m circle and a simple change for M75. So it's a mission.

Anyway, it was a fun lesson. Frustrating at times when I just couldn't get it, but overall exhausting but good. Pretty much the entire lesson was in canter. I also had to take my right stirrup away for a bit (and the left stirrup for another stretch) to try to even out my leg aids. I tend to overcook things with my right leg.

Excuse my face in the photo, I'm chatting ?

As you can see my tipping forward is an issue ?

Then yesterday I had a jump lesson! It was really good fun. I haven't jumped the big lad in ageeeees but decided it was the perfect antidote to the "serious dressage mode" that we have been in lately. I had forgotten how cool he is to jump. He's forward and always going.

I also had a play on a few other horses on the yard, which was great. I need to do that more to be less one-horsed. Plus it's fun ?

Had a group lesson with the one and only Geoff Billington today. Lots to take away, he's pretty cool and comes across really well. Had a really good time - no pics at the moment as I didn't have my owner with me but really recommend if you get any chance to ride with him. Hes really approachable and great fun

Well all my plans were rained off but Kira did grudging trudging hacking club yesterday which meant she was in an excellent mood for schooling today ? I think when forced out on a hack she re-evaluates her approach to school work ?

Fab session this evening, a couple of tiny passage pennies dropping and a fairly classy set of 2 tempis and GP zigzag. Clever little wotsit ?
