Do you know, for years I'd look at the weekend plans thread and wish I had something to post, and now I seem to be starting them every week :D

Tomorrow we're out for a training day, an hour of flat and and an hour of jumping, should be good fun. Will hack on Saturday and Sunday we have an SJ clinic. At 8am. After the clocks go forward :eek3:

The forecast for Monday is horrific, so I think I might give G the day off, but if it improves we'll go to Coombelands for their UA showjumping - I will take him into the 80 and my friend will take him into the 90. If he's good for me, she'll give him a lovely round and if he's naughty for me, she'll make sure he jumps well for her, she's a super rider. After last weekend, I've asked her to take him to a couple of shows for me to get him back into the swing of competing - apart from dressage he hasn't really done any competing since I got him 4.5 years ago so he's probably just as nervous as I am!

We hacked this morning, on our own for the first time in ages, and he was a really good chap.

Training day sounds fun and I hope he's good for the SJ clinic / Monday if the weather's better.

I had planned some Daemon gridwork and F schooling today but I didn't want to put my nice shiny saddle in the inexplicably sticky car I had for the day. So lunged today and it'll have to be tomorrow for grids and schooling, if my field's up to it.

Sat/Sun will be hacking in between drenchings no doubt. Then I've entered Dae in a teeny tiny arena event class up the road on Monday morning. And I will be aiming not to die... And I need to remember to enter some dressage for later in the week too.

Love your hacking buddies!

I have been looking at these threads with sadness, as Jay has been off sick, but today we picked up our new horse, Sidney. He has been turned away since August, and is shaggy. Today he looks like a lost Soul in his new home.

This weekend we will be helping Sidney settle in. I suspect tomorrow we will have a little lunge and he will be turned out.

Ooh Red-1, exciting, can we have pictures of Sidney please!

Good luck with arena eventing JFTD, I love arena eventing, it seems to have really taken off this spring!

Hope Burgham goes well VRIN, full report please, and do you have anyone with you this time?

I pretty much chose it for being local, tiny and first thing so (hopefully!) quietish... I'll worry about having fun when I know the pony's not going to murder small children in the warm up or turn into the devil incarnate in the ring!

Is one of those deer white, or are my eyes deceiving me??

I'm taking my boy to our first dressage comp on Saturday. I haven't competed for about 6 years so totally ring rusty. Not sure when he last competed as only record I have for him is doing novice level as a 4 year old in Holland which was 6 years ago.
I've had him for about 10 months and been reschooling him as he was a ribby, backward, nappy so and so who had obviously learnt to make riders back off.
I've sorted most issues so am venturing out to see how he behaves in public.

We're off to another venue on Sunday to do the same test

I shall be riding lots! Nothing in the scheme of what you are all doing, but just riding is a huge step up for me so I'm happy

Awesome! This is is how I feel most of the time too. There was a time I honestly didn't think I'd ride my horse, so although giving Intro A a bash tomorrow is hardly ground breaking stuff, I'm super pleased none the less. I think most people find it all to easy to spend far too much time comparing themselves to others, instead of celebrating their own achievements. Enjoy your riding :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend & good luck to all those competing!

No your eyes are quite right. We have quite a few white deer here, but it's only now I'm googling it to give you some more info that I found out it's quite unusual! Will see if I can find some info.

That's why I was checking as I know they're rare and was worried it would turn out to be a goat or something chilling with the deer :p

That's really cool that there are quite a few! I think it is caused by a genetic thing so suppose it could be that they are related.

I'm going to a show mid April. Just a very, very local and low key show, but an actual show! Things are on the up for me now and hopefully it wont be that long till I have something I feel I can legitimately post in CR

Fab. Never seen a white one! We have some piebald (so called but surely technically tobiano lol) ones up here but never seen one of them either.

I have nothing exciting this weekend (although riding Peaches both days technically could be exciting!) but have plans to go xc schooling on Monday, a poles schooling class Tuesday (although not booked) and I've got a jumping lesson Wed.

As I still have no saddle for Daisy, I will be performing all these death defying feats on a slightly wild Welsh D.

Off xc schooling today, first time this year and first trip in the new van.
Hacking and clean up trailer for sale tomorrow.
Sunday, hacking and Burgham to watch.
Monday, I would like to show jump, haven't found anything yet though.

Vrin, I'll look out for you. What do you look like?

Looking forward to pics from arena eventing JFDT :D today I'm taking D to clear round show jumping - hopefully to do the 80cm and 90cm. Tomorrow we're off for our first XC schooling session of the year at Stratford Hills :D Sunday and Monday will then be rest days for the ponio as I'm off to the peak district to o doubt get soaked!

You would have had moving pictures in full technicolour from Monday, but my 'tog' decided to abandon my poor wee video camera at the yard where we rode with Rui last week, so it'll have had a drenching and probably not be very well :(

Have fun xc schooling and Peak districting. I hope there will be photos of the former!

Oh no :( I'd lend you mine but am definitely the wrong direction!

For anyone who needs a giggle - D took aversion to a pink fence and I rode like a pleb :o

Hacked this morning but rest of the weekends weather looks horrible!! Will try and squeeze a schooling session in and if it's not to windy may get OH to put some jumps up for me! :0 have fun everyone

Yikes they look huuuge! Least you didn't get a face full of pink jump, and she did go over it in the end.

They certainly required a large pair of brave pants! Ignoring D's aversion to the pink fence the outing was definitely good for our confidence over bigger fences :)

I think I'd need a full on testicle transplant to jump those. But yea, looking fab other than the pink jump!

I stayed at home and jumped a Daemon. And it was scary :D

I just saw, looking super! Having a lesson at Ely a week Tuesday if you want to join? :D

Trip to the gallops today - lovely sunny hack there and back then went off to Munstead to help some friends. Work tomorrow then BE100 arena eventing at Wellington on Sunday. Not sure about Monday yet. Depends on the weather

Took Kira to Summerhouse yesterday, rubbing shoulders with the great & the good... she was absolutely horrible and living up to her nickname of Kira-the-outrageous :o
I am hoping it's just that spring has sprung and she's feeling her hormones but we have developed a nap whenever we go across the school which is a bit of an issue in a dressage test  I was glad I had my neckstrap, naughty beast, as both front and back ends went airborne when I tried to address it before 2nd test! Good job she's got a cute face, I can't hold it against her ;)

Millie has a lesson on Monday, glad we'll be indoors as the forecast is awful. Weather dependent, Kira will either go to the gallops or do some jumping to try and distract her from this napping business and give her something different to think about :)
