Was looking at the Easy Plait website yesterday following someone's post about it, and thought it strange that there were no close up pics, and not only that but the plaited grey they showed a photo of had the first three plaits stood on end.... Wierd.
Just picked up the leaflets from the worktop that had fallen out of the BHS mag, and the same picture of the grey is used on the cover of the HOYS leaflet, and they definitely look like plaits with normal bands to me!

I picked up a HOY leaflet and commented on the crap plaiting

First three where standing up and others resting flat, bands been used and the forelock wasn't plaited....

I got handed a leaflet and said that it was odd that the grey had a plaited mane with bands rather than their "easy plait" what an odd advertisement? I wouldve thought you would want to advertise your own product?

I dont like the look of the plaits close up with the easy plait. Ill stick to sewing them

I can't take any company seriously when they can't spell !

Another website which could do with a proof-reader!

And some decent pics would be good. Points 2-4 of the description on how to use the Easy Plait - show the same photo. ??

And I take it you're not actually plaiting, just slipping a chunk of hair through whatever that 'thing' is, and then rolling up??

I can't really visualise how they work either, & agree that the grey in the ad looks 'conventionally' plaited... Not quite curious enough to spend £10 finding out...

its really odd - I saw them do a demo. You can either plait the hair or just twist it. Still looked a mess either way but she blamed it on having a plastic horse with tail hair as the mane!
All they seemed to do was once the got to the end of the hair they put the easy plait thing at the bottom and got it to grip it firmly then warpped the hair around it by rolling it. Once it got to the base off the mane they wrapped each side of the easy plait around each side of the plait - voila (or not as the case maybe!)

Never seen that before and therefore have nothing useful to say but I did comment on the rubbish plaiting on the HOYS flyer!!! Of all the photos of horses available why that one??

The plaiting in the front of the HOYS leaflet is a disgrace. Out of all the beautifully turned out horses (not just showing - some of the jumpers are also immaculately turned out), they chose something that looked like it had been attacked by someone doing a "how not to plait" demonstration. And as for the easy plait stuff .... !!!!

Ahem. Can I just say something?!

Easyplait are made by Vale Bro's and a few months back they sent me some samples to try out on the proviso I sent them feedback and I clean forgot.

I have to say I used them to take Will to an affiliated BD and was able to 'plait' up in under 10 minutes. They looked tidy and stayed in place all day.

Nobody at the competition even noticed they weren't conventional plaits until I pointed them out to a few friends and did a demonstration and was greeted with comments like "Bloody hell where do I sign!".

I agree they are not suitable for proper showing and they work best on a well pulled mane. However, they are an absolute Godsend for anybody who has to plait during the winter with freezing cold wet fingers, those who are cack handed like me and people with arthritis in their fingers.

They are easily presentable enough for hunting/dressage/showjumping so don't knock em til you've tried em!

I absolutely agree. I haven't used them but friend of mine does for dressage. Not great for showing but I would say perfectly acceptable for anything else and easy and quick to do too!!
