Went for a lesson today, git wouldnt let me groom her, so she had to go caked in mud and her own faeces. The rug didnt fit and i put her travel boots on the wrong way around and inside out. You have NO idea how difficult that is.

The cowbag wouldnt load, but thats ok because the lorry wouldnt start. So i hacked there along the motorway despite the fact i dont need to take it to get there, in dark clothing and no hi viz.

I arrived at the stud an hour late to my lesson and proceeded to have a smoke ontop of the horse. The trainer was drunk, and she forgot to bring two glasses so i said i wasnt going to pay her, she can sue me for the money owed, but i have no insurance so good luck!

We spent the first half an hour trying to negociate with the effing mare to get into the sodding school. Half halting her, asking for more impulsion and softening her to the contact as she reared up and bucked. Eventually she bolted into the school. Thats ok though, a representative of huggy horsemanship said this was natural herd behaviour. So my instructor ran up behind her waving her arms about making barking noises. This was great for dee, now we know how fast she can gallop!

I have a show tomorrow so decided to practice the wrong test. Im doing a prelim and a novice, my trainer thought it would be good to practice the FEI Grand Prix Kur that totilas did at olympia. Everything was going well until the final piaffe and delicia sneezed. I fell off.

I spent the next hour trying to get back on. Not that delicia was dancing around but every time i remounted i was facing the wrong way and delicia did a little bunny hop. But its ok. I put some more dead sheep in her saddle and bridle and immediately was ready for badminton.

By this point the trainer was slumped asleep in the corner, snoring. So i stole her pikeur jacket.

We cantered along the roads in the dark all the way home. I wanted to walk but i think my spurs, whip, draw reins made dee a little frightened. Bless her cotton socks.

She was hot when we came back but as there was hose pipe ban, i could bathe her. This hose pipe ban is a tad annoying, i am speanding a fortune on bottles of evan and straws! Dee goes through at least 5 a day as i cannot fill her water bucket up as there is a hose attached to the pipe!!! grr

I fed her 4 scoops of oats and a litre of oil immediately. I hope she is nice and calm for tomorrow *fingers crossed*

I was going to clean my tack but i decided the dirty on the bridle matched my saddle, and i heard you have to match to win dressage. I am now off to the butchers to buy some dead sheep as i have read this helps dressage scores tomorrow.

I hope i can wear my new stilletos....

An Alternative Lesson Report.....because the truth is boring ;)

No she didnt share!! She slured something between the swearing/crying, but as it was all in german i think its about half passes....

Thank you PF, i realised where i was going wrong, when my last report about dee's good behaviour made people fall asleep. This is a much better progression, 5 replies. ;)

Dee's a graded effin horse, her brand is someone sticking their middle finger up. Her passport is with the British Spotted Pony Society, its says shes a 12.2hh talbino spotted pony. :) So it must be true!

For god's sake I've just spat peanuts all over the laptop.

Absolutely brilliant, you could make a living out of writing. Hope you win the GP prelim 3 tomorrow, try not to blind the judge with your sparkly browband and hope the horse doesn't take a pxx on the centre line like mine did a few years ago.

What a mighty succesful day for you Black Horse!! I wish I could say the same, but my daily lunging session ended in disaster when my girl slipped and fell flat on her side on the concrete, something to do with her metal shoes I think and a lack of magnesium in her diet. I don't think lunging her on the road is particularly a problem, she's used to traffic because I tether her nightly at the side of a busy A road.

Not to worry - I'll send a photo to a distance communicator tomorrow for a reading, and I'm sure all will resolve in no time!! I'm convinced all of these problems are down to my mare not liking the colour of her numnah.

I cleaned her bridle

I knew it !, sparkly browband dazzles the judge who then awards perfects 9's throughout the GP prelim 4 test. Bejesus if the sun gets on that browband you could start a fire.

We want to see the red rosette tomorrow evening.

Not going to happen, but watch out for the report ;)

For heavens sake, I told you to make sure you had the extra large spikes in for lunging on the road, they will give the horse a chance of being seen by striking sparks as she gallops on her 5 metre circle. You could work her at night then and watch daytime telly all day.

Cant work the horse in the day time as jeremy kyle is on. TBH most professionals ride at midnight, go into the field and plait the horses mane before getting on to ride. Doesnt even need to be your horse.

Ooh what a fantastic idea!! I am just going to put my dark clothes on and rush out to give this a go! I haven't got the correct spikes though - but I do have some rusty old nails out the back. I think these will be better because if she brushes or over reaches she will feel it more as the blood runs down the back of her heels. By god that will teach her not to do it again!! (Chuckles!)

Black Horse - can I offer you some advice from my mine of knowledge (I have vast experience in top level dressage - having got a 1st in the Equestrian Centre test when I was 11)? Please remember not to wear a hat when you warm up - it's not big and it's not clever!! Not only that but your head will over heat should the blingy browband cause a bush fire nearby!
