Just a little update, little dog settled really well and was positively ecstatic bouncing round and generally being a happy girl. Sadly Tues she developed a really bad cough, and after trying a few days of antibiotics that didn't help, we took her back to the vets for x-rays and turned out she had lots of fluid in her lungs and they were pretty much deflated. She was too poorly for me even to take her for one last visit to my mum so sadly she went to the great ball park in the sky this afternoon.

Thanks everyone who offered advice, it was really helpful xx

Thanks, she was really happy. She deserved it after being my mum's emotional support dog for 15 years, she got her just after her partner died and up until mum went into care home she was her constant companion. We haven't told mum about it as she will be too upset, then forget, then be upset again. I went to visit her straight after and luckily she didn't mention the dog too much. I told one of the carers so they can down play mentions of the dog visiting etc 😔

Aww. Late to this. So sorry. I feel sometimes they hang on for us and she knew she could ‘go’. Her job done bless her cute little heart. What a sweetie. You’re so kind ESW.
