Equetech - awful customer service?

I have been wondering about replacing my old riding coat, which is an ancient waxed one, with something a little more up to date. Is there such a thing as a hi viz fully waterproof long coat? Or even a bright colour. They all seem to be very dark and it would be nice not to have to faff around with separate hi viz. Obvs won't be buying a Ratner Equitech one after this thread!

Equidry lite in Hiviz Pink

I’ve given up on my Equetech, after getting some spray on reproofer diligently applied by hubby it’s still as waterproof as a sponge so it’s going to be retired to be a non horse warm coat. Which I didn’t need but I can’t sell it in good faith given how absorbent it is! I have now bought the significantly less stylish but so far super comfy and dry Equidry lite. so nice to remain warm and dry for a change.

Inappropriate from the company here and in their private conversation with OP.

OP never 'slated' the company and even if they did... company business is not personal. By this logic every negative review could be classed as 'slating' the company. Immature and inappropriate response imo.

Thing is OP did slate the company - just look at the title about "awful" customer service. To be honest I think the world has gone too PC correct, I think its good that a company can come on and fight their side. So often a customer can do so much damage to a company when we only hear their side. OP Im not saying its right your jacket isnt working correctly, of course tell them to get it sorted but I dont think its very fair to name and shame the specific company and then everyone on here going nuts because the company actually responded publically to defend themselves. It sounds like they want to help so provide them with your proof of purchase and Im sure it'll get sorted ;)

The issue wasn't with coming on here to tell people what their policy is re refunds etc, they gave personal details out that identified OP. That was a data breach. Not just a 'bad sport' type of thing, but actually against the law.

As Red-1 said, the way they responded broke the law. No one is saying that they were wrong to respond, just that they should not have done so in this manner.

However the other replies and reviews elsewhere do seem to indicate the coat won't keep you dry, which is a bit of a fail in an equestrian coat.

In comparison the Harry Hall coat made it through most of yesterday's absolutely abysmal weather, only leaking through the armpits/sleeve seams after 3 hours of pretty torrential rain, which I was out planting whips in.

I sincerely hope the very smart looking new Equetech jacket that we sold recently on ebay doesn't disappoint the new owner. Excellent feedback given back to us, I just hope that it performs well and is fully waterproof ?.

Meanwhile, my much more utilitarian workhorse of an Equidry jacket continues to excel.

Oh right, well shes safe then!
Apart from completely trashing her company's reputation, which she has most successfully done on this thread alone.

I had bought an Equetech jacket thinking that I was paying a premium price for a premium product, and that in the unlikely event of having an issue with the jacket that Equetech would be a responsible company deal with to sort those issues out

This poster has shafted her own company ?, and shows no sign of remorse.

TP, a former Equetech customer.

I am still an Equetech customer. I have sold my jacket on (arms too short), but I do have a number of other products from them that I rate.
