Equilibra -v- Bluechip

I usually use TopSpec but ended up with Equilibra the other week because there wasn't any TopSpec to be had.
The equilibra suited my mare much, much better (much more laid back and contented) and the gelding seemed oblivious to the change.
I've now got one on each

Can't comment on BlueChip though, sorry.

I really rate topspec my horses looked fab on it last winter, had used blue chip for a month before I swapped but was too short a time to really comment on comparisons sorry (ps topspec is cheaper)

i used BC for a bit, tried Equilibra but it smelt like fishmeal so didn't get that again. Then i learnt that Bailey's Gro 'n' Win (now renamed Bailey's Stud Balancer) does the same as BC for about half the price (or less, can't recall exactly) so i feed that to all mine now. it's not just for youngsters or breeding stock, and it's great.

I've tried Topspec, Equilibra and BC (original and pro), and I think BC is the best by far. My two are on pro at the moment. I don't feed it all the time, when the grass is really good I find they don't need balancers etc, and I feed a bit less than the recommended amount.

Blue Chip is working better for my boy than Top Spec did. Haven't tried equilibra. I think it depends on the horse IMO. I can get broken bags of Blue Chip for £4 at my work, so the cost isn't too worrying

Ive used Equilibra, Blue Chip and Baileys low cal. I found Equilibra ok, Baileys low cal did nothing and i totally swear by Blue Chip now plus you can collect the Blue Chip tokens and get free clothing for you and your horse!!!!!

I've never done a direct comparison with the feed balancers -each seems to have their own band of followers who swear by them - It would be very interesting if people could post the balancer's specifications so that we can see exactly what each contain, thereby giving a direct like for like comparison of ingredients!

Main differences then: no specified vitamins and minerals, no linseed, no whey, no Digest Plus prebiotic, no calcined magnesite, in the latter, as well as half the protein, more than twice the fibre.

will be interested to see how they compare to Blue Chip and others.
If i could get BC for £4 a bag, i'd be very very happy!

i have always been a bluechip fan. but i think they are being cheeky putting their prices up so much. now i am thinking of trying baileys. anyone else tried it? shame couse i do like the bluechip
