Wears headscarf aggressively
Just thought as there has been lots of discussion about mud fever recently I'd post my experiences of using these for the first time.
I will admit to being a total sceptic about them - I couldn't see how they could possibly work, so it's taken me a long time to finally get round to buying them. But at the time I ordered them, I was completely desperate and willing to try anything to help shift the mud fever on 3 of my mare's legs.
Word of warning - the size guides suggest measuring the cannon bone but I found them not generously sized around the fetlock, so it took 2 goes to get the right size. By which time the mud fever had finally gone. But decided to try them now as prevention.
My mare is turned out in a really marshy paddock - the gateway where they wait to come in is thick mud and the rest of the field is wet. Well, today she had a tiny bit of mud right on the bulbs of her heels, and the rest of the leg was clean and dry. I'm gobsmacked. Hope this isn't seen as advertising - I have nothing to do with the company and find their other boots pretty rubbish on my mare. But these actually do what they say on the tin. Worth a go for anyone else tearing their hair out.
