Equissage - worth having ???

I have been offered an Equissage (sp).
Has anyone got one or used one - and if so are they worth having or just a load of expensive hype ??

Gigglepig, no offence, but have you ever used one???
We have had ours on the yard for a few years and it has proved invaluable for all sorts of ailments.
The first proven success, confirmed by our vet, was on a pony with severe check ligament damage; after 2 weeks treatment the swelling had disappeared and pony almost sound.
It is brilliant for horses showing signs of impaction colic, as the motion stimulates gut movement, again as recommended by the vet. I could go on and on, but all I will say is that I would never spend money on something that wasn't proven to work!!

Yes!
We have the handset and the belt for almost 2years and they are in use every day.
My 5yo loves it, to the point where she will bang on the door when she see it come out of the tack room.
At the moment the equissage is playing a big part in helping Cybele fight against her lameness (deep seated muscular issue in her hip joint), I know the equissage can't work as deeply as her actual damage, but it really does help. I went away last weekend and she wasn't equissaged at all, and you could tell on monday!

Other than for Cybele I use it after strenuous workouts and, if time allows, before and after polocrosse matches.
We had a horse here for a while who was VERY cold backed, but was fine after having the equissage on before I rode.

If you are getting one via someone other than a salesperson (sounds like you are from your post?) then I'd recommend getting one of the sales team out to show you exactly how to use it. The lady who does our area gave full treatments to 2 of mine when she was doing her spiel - very useful in showing the very specific uses the handset has.
Also, if I remember rightly Becki2003 used to be a sales person for Equissage, so she might be a good person to speak to?

Is it back pad and hand held that you have been offered? They are fantastic, and I am not one for gimmicks believe me. I am amazed at the number of people who buy them and then don't use them - and then say they are no good. I know they are expensive, but some things are worth it.

I think they are really good. My yard manager has one and I am always borrowing it to use on my horse (well every few weeks). He loves it (scratches the air and goes to sleep!) and it is great if his back is a little sore, it is fine afterwards and he always feels much suppler and looser to ride after. You can also make money out of it, my yard manager charges people a small amount for each use and I know some people who travel with their's to yards and then charge for a session using them on other people's horses. So I say that if you can afford one then get one!

We had a demo on Cairo - he really really enjoyed it and did move better afterwards.

I may invest in one if he gets stiffer with age and it will be useful for the Stinker as his work increases.
