I, as many people on here, suffer from cold feet in winter. At the moment I have some Ariat Conistans which are great for the majority of the time, e.g keeping feet dry. However during this cold spell, even with tights and fluffly socks, my feet have been freezing after about 45mins into wearing them. Yesterday I got home and could not feel my feet, I had gone past the pain to being just numb. I am coming to wits end with my feet, I dread going up the yard because I come home and my feet are so cold they hurt.

I remember accouple of months ago, I read up on Equitector boots, with their insulating technology, cool in the summer, warm in the winter. Apparently they can keep your feet warm down to -25C. They have a paddock boot, which comes at just under £100, http://equitector.com/product_detail.cfm?cat=2&product=167 .

Does anyone have any experience with the equitector boots?!
All replies welcome!
Also if anyone knows where I can maybe get a pair secondhand/cheaper (have looked on ebay but none in size 6), would be great also, after all they are quite a lot of money :).

Thanks!

I love these boots but wouldn't necessarily would say they kept my feet much warmer than normal boots. I also find I have to buy a size bigger than normal, so maybe a 6.5 would fit you. I wear Muckboots in the winter and no cold feet at all yet (only -3 here though)!

I think they're great... admitedly I'm not generally a "cold" person, but out hunting my feet always used to get cold. I now hunt with just cotton socks in my boots most days, and some thin merino socks on really really cold days!

I disagree about the sizes though. I normally take an 8 and that's what I've got. I did ask them to stretch the instep for me though as I have a very high instep. Works a treat, and well worth the money IMO.

i have some long riding boots that i use for hunting and i definatly get cold feet in them! Possibly not quite as bad as some boots ive had but couldnt swear to i. The only thing that have kept my feet warm out hunting are heated insoles!!!
Gotta say though, that i do love the boots with or without cold feet! Feels super smart in them.

They are fab, I'm a real fan!

Last winter (which was the last time I rode due to horses retirements) was the only winter I rode without getting frozen feet. I used to get such numb feet that I wouldn't feel them when I got off, but they were always toasty warm wearing the equitectors (and I only ever wore one pair of socks!)

I also have a feeling I needed a half size bigger, but bear in mind you don't have to allow for multiple pairs of socks so you don't want them too big.

I'm a bit precious about mine which means I've kept them for riding and as a result haven't worn them this year and regret to say I now have chillblains...

Im on my 3rd pair now, and love them, they seem to last a good 2-3 years, and I wear mine to death, here its very hot in the summer 40'c+ for a good couple of months, and my feet are fine in them if I ride, and great in winter too.....

I have the normal Equitector paddock boots and find as long as I have a decent pair of socks on, my feet don't get cold in them at all.
Don't laugh, the warmest yard boots I've had are cheapo Town & Country short boots similar to the original Muckers from the local garden centre! These are neoprene lined along with a warm insole and my feet are always toasty warm even with a pair of bargain basement short socks. They have a decent tread on them and are certainly able to ride in them too as they have a good heel. I'm certainly going to get another pair but be warned, I'm a 5 and had to have a 4 which fits great; mind, Muckers had the same sizing too.

Mine are now 3 years old, and still look like new. I wear them for hunting twice a week all winter, and competing about a dozen times in the summer.

I've worn nothing else but Equitector boots for yard work/riding for about 8 years now. I wear them mostly because I have a large grey elephant who isn't too careful about where she puts her feed and before getting my first pair she managed to break one of my toes when she stood on my foot in normal Muckers.

They are fantastic boots, keep my feet warm in winter (with only a thin pair of socks on), cool in summer and extremely comfortable. I'm on my third pair at the moment so they do last well if you look after them properly.

I love love love mine!

I find they keep my feet warmer than usual boots but the trick is to not have them too snug fitting- you need a bit of room to wiggle toes and trap a bit of warm air in there.

I wouldn't buy any other yard boots now (and I've been through most!).
