Escaped stallion

So, if the gelding is still alive in the morning remove him from the field, followed by the mare.
As I've said she's been advised not too and it's impossible to get in-between the 3 of them when it's constant fighting and mating. Would you stand in front of a raging wild stallion like that? It's really dangerous!

As others have said, I'd try and remove the gelding first- take backup and a couple of lunge whips. Depending on how feral the stallion is (and his size, I'd be more inclined to try it with a 12hh animal than a 16hh one!) you might be able to get the mare out in the same fashion. If he gets onto the road and gets killed that's on his owner for a) not fencing him in securely in the first place and b) not coming to get him as soon as she was notified.

I don’t think this is for real.
I know a lot of farmers and they would be perfectly capable of dealing with something like this. Drive the mare and gelding into a barn for protection and then worry about the stallion.
It's real...do people come on here and ask for advice on mad up situations? It's a small farm with inadequate fencing for stallions. There isn't a barn. The option to move them would be another field but he's already gone through 3 fields and fences

As I said she's hoping the vet can tranquilize the stallion tomorrow..no one was available to do this today. Yes she probably could take the gelding out whilst the stallion is on the mare but the gelding will not leave the mates side and the 3 of them are kicking and rearing and fighting close by constantly. This is 48 hours later now.
If the stallions owner is unwilling to risk getting in-between the 3 of them I don't see why my friend should put herself at such great risk with an unknown stallion.
Obviously the first thing she wanted to do was remove her horses but if she takes the mare out the stallion with get over the fence to get to her..he's already gone through 3 fields and 3 lots of double fences

God what a nightmare. I’m afraid if they were my horses I’d have tried to remove them by now.
The fate of the stallion would be the least of my worries.

This. There must be some way of separating them momentarily so they can get the mare and gelding, or even just the gelding out and away. If he's already covered her, he'd need a short time at least where he would calm down and not be up to mating again. One of your friends horses is likely to end up with a fatal injury before the weekend if nothing is done.

If you really want help why not say where you are?

So this is the friend's family farm yes? She keeps her horses there Yes? And there is nowhere for those horses to be stabled or contained on said farm. What does the friend do in the case of accident or emergency concerning said horses? Where does she store forage for said horses?

She could have a box ready to load her horses into and drive them somewhere safe. As others have said if the stallion then gets loose, it will be a police problem.

New poster, Half term in some areas. Just sayin'

.

Absolutely they do, yes.

.
New poster as I couldn't log into my old account..don't have kids so not even aware that it's half term.
It's real and I was hoping for some advice to help my friend out of this awful situation. Also wanted to know if anyone knew where she stood legally in regards to getting this sorted and then dealing with the financial aftermath.
She had no idea the neighbours had allowed a stallion onto thier land. They have always had horses next door so they should of known better as well.

Is there nowhere nearby with stables/a barn? With enough hands you should be able to lead your friends horses in there and shut the top door before the stallion breaks out again. (Bonus points if there's a race/crush you can run the stallion into when he does get there 😆)

What was your old account name? I find it strange you don't mention it up front.
