Ever fall in love with horse ad, even when horse is totally bizarre choice?

I think he's lovely.
I understand why you have fallen in love with him!
He sounds safe and experienced, even though the advert states this its a bit boring, they need to big him up more!
Anyone want to offer him a home?

Website is for willowbrook stables?

Some nice ponies on there though! I especially like Riana and Paintbox!

I totally forgot to try clicking the 'Visit Website' button, doh! I'm guessing that stables isn't well thought of then?

Bummer... though that's just another reason to convince me not to sell my soul, my virtue and anything else to hand in order to purchase more land and then buy Bob the little ned!

Edit: Searched them on the forums and the result doesn't seem to be anything good. Seems like they often have ponies for sale which are relisted time after time. Poor Bob!

I'm sorry to be unhelpful but I think you need this pony. :D What amazing markings! So unusual. And, you have a small son, yes?

Sorted. :p

But a pony only needs one wrong owner to end up on a downward spiral. If he's sound, does it matter where he comes from? And if he's proving difficult to sell, they'll be open to offers. Personally I think the advert reads that he's learn't to be nappy and throw his weight around but an experienced horse person like yourself.....

But that pony... IS AWESOME.

Millikins - if I had the space and money, I'd probably still be tempted to go and look at him. :D Having said that, my mother's horse (the one who we got in Nov 2010 and remains unrideable 10 months on from bone spavin surgery!) was thanks to a dodgy dealer and us being absolute muppets. We got totally taken for a ride and should never ever have bought him. Though I am pleased he's not with those crappy people anymore!

My horse I had as a teenager was bought from a dreadful disreputable rs which was closing down. It had been ok in its day but gone downhill towards the end. He had been pulled about and run into the ground and his wind was broken.

If I had my time again I'd buy him all over again. Thirty years on I still miss him, never was there a better, more honest, fabulous little horse.

Oh bless him. Stories like this make me so pleased that he went on to be with you and obviously had a nice time! :)

Buy him, looks aren't everything and if the advert is half true think of the lovely plods you could have on him :D

I so want a Bob, would be lovely to hack out without checking life insurance and saying fond goodbyes to family before mounting..... *sighs* maybe I could sneak Bob into feild....could tell OH my shetland had grown/changed colour/sex...... :D

I've always adored clydesdales having taught myself to ride on one. Unfortunately where I was at the time was not appropriate for a giant! And I couldn't find any I had that gut feeling for.

So then I looked for Spotties (cob x) or Andulusians. I love the Spanish fiery ride but wanted something a little older and broken in. Never been fussed by brown/black/gingers, really don't like lean horses, so tb out the window.

Ended up with a 3yo unhandled bay tb x welsh d. She is the prettiest thing, the moment I saw her I completely fell in love with her personality, temperament and looks. I couldn't be happier. I viewed 3, one totally wrong for me, one perfect and the one I ended up with!!!

Haha, precisely! I love my horse but the risk of potential death is sometimes tiring... I long to get on a ploddy pony, pack a picnic and just toddle off to the middle of nowhere without concern for my wellbeing! :p

Please can you get Bob and then I can come and borrow him occasionally?! PLEASE?

PandorasJar - so glad to hear that you are really happy with your choice. She sounds lovely. It's funny how we often end up with something totally different to what we're looking for. Before we bought my horse we were looking for something not too big, probably 10+ (been there and seen it all type), not a mare, not grey, that both me and my mum could ride. Ended up with 16.2hh 6yr old grey mare who my mum won't touch with a barge pole... excellent!

Thanks,

Yours sounds great, so funny how many of the girls down our yard are gutted when their mums realise that their horse is fun to ride!

When I was looking for my first horse, I kept going back to the same advert. A 16.3 5yo TB, A chestnut with unusual face markings and FOUR EVEN WHITE SOCKS! Allthough he was probably not the one I should have bought, I wouldn't change him for the world!
