ex-racers!

Sorry but i just have to say, as said before, there are several differant yards within racing and are not all as cared for as you say. Like there is good and bad yards in every discipline, people are ranting on when your yard doesnt count for every yard in the UK never mind abroad. People do judge ex-racers to be mistreat mainly because of the things you hear that are bad compared to good... i didnt mean to make it sound like every single ex-racer is a mistreated animal when like i said there is good and bad yards. when you get an ex-racer it is clear to see how they have been brought up and i think its fair to say people are allowed to make a judgement on where they may have been/treated on how their horse behaves.

I think the other thing people see in ex racers is that some of them start racing at a very early age when a normal horse would still be playing in the field and having time to grow up ! There are good yards & bad ones but the only thing thats ever publicised are the bad ones !

:D:D
dont worry, no war attack coming from this side - we're actually on the same team (TB's r us!) Ive had my rant, just had to get it out. I just get really fed up with racing getting 'dissed' by people who dont neccessarily know what goes on. My follow on thread was just to find out from people outside of racing, what they think happens and why they think that. I suppose its just that the few bad yards/trainers give the rest of it a bad name and racing (because it divides people on the 'cruelty' level of the whips) cops it more than any other discipline. Maybe if people were to see showjumpers being 'rapped' before classes they might get 'picked on' too!!:o

As an old boss of mine used to say ''you can slide further and faster on s**t than on roses''
