Excessive drinking and liver issue

Update for anyone interested. Bears biopsy results are back and he has very minor (and entirely reversible) non specific damage. Vet said it's the sort of thing you could ignore for 5 years before it becomes an issue but obviously we are going to treat it!

However biopsy non specific as expected but does rule out something nasty e.g ragwort, tumour etc.

Vet is coming today and I'm going to have bloods run on my other horse which should rule out pasture but not hay (although hay is from all over).

Missed you'd needed a vet visit. What treatment is the vet suggesting? I decided not to go down the biopsy route (wasn't insured) so went with milk thistle

We are going to do 6 weeks of antibiotics to begin with (we did do a month previously, and the results went back to normal). If that doesn't work then I will have to start eliminating things, hay (not sure how this will work as hay is from all over), straw bedding etc. Vet says not to do those things yet as it's so minor so not going to be necessary to do drastic things yet, and obviously we want to try and work out what is successful which we can't do if we change multiple things at once.

But I am testing my other horse just to be sure though he's on haylage but I want to make sure he's ok.
