CCI is always over 3 or 4 days, CIC is over 1 or at most 2 days. CIC can be dr, sj, xc, or dr, xc, sj, whereas CCI is always dr, xc, sj. not always 2 trot-ups at CIC either, iirc.
CIC is a glorified one-day event, basically, i think.

Gatcombe CIC ran over 3 days
They had a trot-up before dressage. The CIC I did at lulworth a few years ago had a trot up before dressage and a formal trot-up the day after xc, before sj
It's quite an interesting question as tbh there aren't at current with the short format that many differences, except a longer xc at CCI etc. ERA wants to have always have xc last in order to create a greater distinction.
did individual classes at Gatcombe CIC actually run over 3 days? crikey, i didn't know that. i suppose they're trying to justify the cost of a glorified one day as far as qualifications are concerned.
