The wind is really getting up now, but the horses are all ok and happy. They have taken themselves to the bottom of the field where it is a bit more sheltered. Local trains have been cancelled.
:eek3: :eek3:I thought we were surviving quite well, with just a minimal amount of damage, until the roof shattered on my American barn. It's not raining, which is just as well, because the horses will be sleeping under the stars.
Went up to the horses at 1.30 pm to check how they were getting on to find the stables had blown away and landed on next doors fence! So scary, thank fully the horses were out and unharmed. I am devastated we had just put in solar lights and they are completely wrecked![]()
Have to admit I never thought I'd hear that all Scottish train services were cancelled due to trampolines on the lines, but that was the gist of this morning's announcement
(OK, they did mention branches and leaves as well...).

Were the neds in at the time? How frightening.
I don't know how, but the tack room cladding ceiling collapsed on us this afternoon. How the wind made it do that, I don't know. Also all the house guttering is down.
Blimey! Everyone ok?

Yes, thankfully. I hope it wasn't an omen as I was just handing over the cash for my new filly. It was very scary, but the cladding is relatively light so not as bad as it could have been!

but understand Scotland and the North are having it worse?
I'm afraid that as soon as the weather warnings moved down South, you guys were old news, even though you were still in the thick of it. It must really rankle with you. It's ALWAYS worse up here in ScotlandAnnoyed me that Radio 4 this morning was talking about how you guys were preparing for high winds / tides but then nothing happened this morning, no mention at all of our horrendous winds yesterday. With snow it was a white out at times too.
But hey, us Scots are expected to deal with this with no fuss![]()
