Can anyone recommend a set of extra grippy reins?

I use continental ones at the moment but they just seem to slip through my fingers no matter how hard I grip them!

Preferably in black and smart enough for dressage!

Thanks :)

I m a real fan of bio grip reins by Jeffries think a few others make them now and find they don't slip look smart an are not bulky in your hand. I have them on all my bridles dressage, sj and xc.

I really like the biogrips too, super grippy but not too bulky. Although I use leather reins with stops for dressage so I know they are an even length ;) I get all wonky knitting otherwise

I have the Kate Negus and Jefferies reins. The Kate Negus ones are at least 4 years old and still in great condition. I had to have the Jefferies ones replaced after 12 months as the rubber wore off (no issues exchanging them so plus points there) the second set are a couple of years old and fine. I really like both sets and have never had a problem with grip.

Having had both the jeffries biogrip and Kate Negus X-Suregrip i can definitely say the KN ones are the better of the two. they are the only reins i will use now - they're great for those with little hands to! the quality is great, much better than biogrip which needed replacing after about 9 month. just about to order another pair of KN ones for my black bridle as i only have brown!!!

Another vote for the Bio grip reins! I had a lesson last night and the pony got a bit overexcited and was dripping but I could still hold on to her, with my old rubber reins i'd have had no chance.
I bought mine from an ebay shop, JMS saddlery rings a bell, think there were £40 inc postage, didn't want to spend £70+ on Jefferies if I didn't like them.
Love KN stuff so I might go for a pair of those next time.
